The returning Rob Gronkowski is leading the market for the NFL's Comeback Player Of The Year Award, now he's been reunited in Tampa Bay with Tom Brady, as a best price +300 favorite, and as short as +200.
There aren't many players you know by just their nickname but Rob Gronkowski is one of the select few who've reached that status. After retiring in the month following the New England Patriots' Super Bowl LIII victory over the LA Rams, Gronk has rarely been out of the public eye, he's been a color commentator, wrestler, LA Lakers cheerleader and CBD advocate.
Last week the news broke that Rob Gronkowski was out of retirement, and had been traded from New England, who still had his rights, alongside a 7th-round pick, for the Tampa Bay Bucanners 4th-round pick.
Gronk's main rival for the award is the Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger, who is actually favorite with FanDuel, and currently is a best price of +500. JJ Watt, Matthew Stafford and AJ Green complete the top five, having all struggled with injuries in 2019.
Gronk struggled as a playmaker in his final season in New England, with his body battered by injury, but he still finished off by winning his third Super Bowl. If he can get back to anywhere near his brilliant best, which will see him land in the Hall Of Fame, then he's a major weapon for Brady in Tampa.
In that final season he was largely used as a blocker, and had few other tools on offense, leading him to be double covered, now alongside Mike Evans and Chris Godwin he'll be free to perform at his best. The big question is whether he can be relied upon to stay fit.
