The betting breakdown suggests the public are confident that Pittsburgh will cover the spread in New York

The Pittsburgh Steelers will travel to the New York Giants in Week One of the upcoming NFL season, and the betting patterns make for positive viewing from a Black and Gold perspective.

Despite the fact that the spread favors the Giants by 3.5, bettors have convincingly backed the Steelers with 73% of wagers placed going behind Pittsburgh.

In fact, across all the Week One games only the Kansas City Chiefs have a more dominant share of bets; currently 88% of bets on the spread market between them and the Houston Texans have gone on the current Super Bowl champions.

Oddschecker spokesperson: “Juju-Smith Schuster continues to one of the most exciting WRs in the game and Ben Roethlisberger is the current betting favorite for Comeback Player of the Year; things don’t look too bad in Pittsburgh.”

“Mike Tomlin will know that if they can start strong and build some momentum, they can definitely give the Ravens a run for their money in the AFC North – and sports bettors have demonstrated that they think Big Ben et al will do exactly that.”
