Following a second consecutive victory of the season against Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans odds of winning the AFC South have shortened again.
The Titans odds of securing the division now sit at +100, which carries an implied probability of 50% and put them ahead of the Colts, Texans and Jaguars.
This is despite the fact that Tennessee began the season as second favorites in divisional betting, with their odds of +163 putting them behind the Colts who were themselves +125 in preseason.
However, as the graphic shows, the Titans jumped to favorites after a surprise loss for the Colts in their opener, and actually extended their lead despite the fact that both teams won in Week 2.
The Texans, despite having the best quarterback in the division sit bottom with an 0-2 record, although it must be said that in facing the Chiefs and Ravens, they have faced the two favorites to win the Super Bowl this season.
The Colts and Jaguars are both on 1-1, with the Jags beating the Colts in the opening week. Season ending injuries to Marlon Mack and Parris Campbell could have dented their chances though, where as the Jaguars are far better than most observers assumed, with Gardner Minshew in particular looking like he could be a franchise QB.
The real story is the Titans who look the strongest team in the divison by some distance, with Derrick Henry's powerful running, a strong defense and Ryan Tannehill continuing where he left off last season. Even Corey Davis, considered a bust, is looking like he may finally deliver on the potential he offered when taken fifth overall in 2017.
Oddschecker spokesperson Pete Watt: “It’s been a perfect start for Tennessee and it’s happened without them even hitting top gear.”
“Derrick Henry is going to be a colossus this season, and with some crucial games coming up Mike Vrabel will be delighted at the early season momentum.”
AFC South Odds

Indianapolis Colts +200

Jacksonville Jaguars +2200
