Kansas City Chiefs vs. Baltimore Ravens Preview

This week’s Monday Night Football game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens matches up two of the best teams and two of the best young quarterbacks in football.

Both teams come in boasting unbeaten 2-0 records and will be looking to continue their hot streak.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs easily handled the Houston Texans in their 2020 season opener before a come-from-behind victory against the LA Chargers in Week 2 preserved their unbeaten record.

Few teams, if any, have as much offensive firepower as the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes, the NFL’s highest paid player, leads them from under center and is largely considered the best young quarterback in the game.

Between Mahomes, their star-studded skill position players and rock-solid offensive line, there are very few weaknesses on the Chiefs’ roster.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens, like the Chiefs, are led by their own former MVP. Lamar Jackson is a generational talent that can run past you or throw the ball over top with extreme ease. Jackson won the MVP award last season while leading the Ravens to an NFL-best 14-2 regular season record.

The Ravens have given up 11.0 PPG in their two games this year while averaging 35.5 points scored. Jackson’s next-level speed makes him a nightmare for opposing defences to try to defend.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Baltimore Ravens Betting Breakdown

The Chiefs come into Monday in a somewhat unfamiliar position. They started the week at +175 on the moneyline and, as of Sunday, are now at +155. Those +175 odds were the longest the Chiefs' chances at victory had been in almost a year. Their previous longest moneyline odds came last October, when Matt Moore started a game against Green Bay (+190).

In contrast, the Ravens are -175 to win outright. The Chiefs’ +155 odds imply a 39.2% chance of victory, while -175 gives the Ravens a 63.6% shot.

The betting public doesn't seem to be buying the Ravens as the favorites for Monday. 66.67% of all moneyline wagers on the game are backing the Chiefs.
