Green Bay have made a perfect start to the season by going 3-0, and the graphic below illustrates just how swiftly oddsmakers have started to take the Packers.
On the eve of the season, the odds of the Packers winning the NFC were set at +1400, which meant sportsbooks rated their chances of success at just 6.67%, and listed them as the eighth-favorite.
Fast forward just three weeks and the conference landscape looks very different. Pre-season favorites San Francisco 49ers have tanked while New Orleans Saints have also failed to impress.
Green Bay, by comparison, have only moved in one direction; their odds of winning the NFC have more than halved to +650 - meaning their implied probability has risen to 13.33% - with only Seattle Seahawks currently considered more likely to achieve the feat.
Oddschecker spokesperson Pete Watt: “Aaron Rodgers has made an amazing start to the season to prove his doubters that he’s still got plenty left in the tank, and the rest of the team have been inspired to his level.”
“The only thing that is preventing Green Bay from being outright favorites to win the division is an equally impressive start from their rivals in Seattle – although chasing the Seahawks could be exactly the motivation that the Packers need”.
Seattle Seahawks +400
Green Bay Packers +650
Tampa Bay Buccaneers +750
New Orleans Saints +800
San Francisco 49ers +900
