New England Patriots vs. New York Jets Betting Breakdown

This isn't a game that leaps off the page as being a classic. The Jets are a dumpster fire and slumping ever closer to that first pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, with every single game. The Patriots meanwhile are nowhere near their best.

Despite all of that, this feels like it could be a bit more interesting that expected. It's been a long time since we thought there was any chance that a Pats team could lose to the Jets but given their performances this year it could well be an upset.

Bettors seem to agree with that sentiment too. The New York Jets have taken 77.32% of bets on the moneyline so far. There are likely two reasons for this. Firstly, fans believe that there is a real chance of an upset with the Jets beating their former HC, Bill Belichick. Secondly, that at a price of -420 on the Patriots, there just isn't a huge amount of value on them.

That second theory seems to ring true when we look at how the spread is being bet. 64.59% of bets have been on New England to cover the spread, currently sitting at -9.5. This probably gives a more accurate look at how people see the game going, with the Patriots clearly being the better team. They may not have a roster that's much better but the coaching alone surely makes them likely winners here.
