Heisman Trophy Odds: Kyle Trask the Clear Favorite to Win Award
2020 Heisman Trophy Odds: Trask the Clear Favorite
Coming into the 2020 college football season Kyle Trask was a huge longshot to be anywhere near the Heisman Trophy conversation, let alone win it. Now, through seven games, not only does the Florida senior QB have a shot at winning NCAA football’s most coveted individual award, he’s the favorite.

To start the season, Kyle Trask wasn’t on many fan’s mind when considering Heisman Trophy winners.
Ohio State’s Justin Fields was the favorite at +350. Right behind him was Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence, sitting at +500. Then, all the way down at the 14th shortest odds available was Florida quarterback Kyle Trask at +3000.
Through seven games, Trask is setting the college football world on fire. He’s fifth in the country in passing yards (2,554), third in QBR (93.4), first in passing touchdowns (31) and he’s thrown just three interceptions.
Now, if you’re looking to bet on Trask, you’re going to have to pay the price for waiting. Those preseason +3000 odds are now odds-on no matter where you look, with his best odds sitting at -110. That means every sportsbook that's offering Heisman Trophy odds is now indicating it's more likely Trask wins the award than doesn't.
Trask’s main competition is now Fields, Lawrence and Alabama quarterback Mac Jones.
Fields, following a down performance against Indiana on Saturday, has the 3rd shortest odds at +400. Jones presently sits 2nd at +350, while Lawrence, after missing extended time due to COVID-19, can be backed for as long as +1600 in some places.
Ultimately, Trask’s likelihood of winning the award depends on two things. His ability to keep putting up big numbers and his team’s success. If Florida can win a SEC title and sneak into the College Football Playoffs, it’d be tough to deny him the Heisman Trophy.
