Bettors believe the NFC East race is all but wrapped up three games into the season. The Dallas Cowboys are far and away the bettors' favorites. Nobody else even compares. Oddsmakers aren’t much further behind.
Since Sunday, 80% of bets have been placed on the Cowboys to win the NFC East. The Eagles are second with 15% of the bets. The Giants are third, and Washington is 4th. So, it’s not like bettors are simply looking at the standings.
Oddsmakers also have the Cowboys first at -195, or an implied 66.1% chance to win the division. Washington is second with +450 odds. The Eagles have been given +600 odds. The Giants are last at +1600 odds.
The NFC East came into the season as the league’s most wide-open division, and now it’s the Cowboys division. Sure, Washington and Philadelphia have decent odds to win the division, but they’re still far behind Dallas. So as things stand, the NFC might as well have already been decided.
