NFL MVP Odds: Josh Allen Provides Good Value

NFL MVP Odds: Josh Allen Provides Good Value
When looking at the MVP race, most will say that it comes down to Kyler Murray vs Dak Prescott. Both of those quarterbacks have been fantastic and are deserving of the award but, I’d like to make the case for another quarterback, Josh Allen.
Before the Week 8 action, Josh Allen has his team at 4-2 and is building off of his breakout year from last season. When looking at at his numbers through six games, they’re steady but he can take another step on top of that in the second half of the season. Here’s where he ranks in per-game numbers
- Yards/G: 8th
- Passing TD/G 5th
- TD% 10th
- Y/A 15th
- Rating 9th
- QBR 5th
Josh Allen Stats
Games | CMP% | Yards | TD | INT | Y/A | Rating |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
6 | 64.8 | 1723 | 15 | 3 | 7.5 | 103.6 |
Those numbers are good, but they’re not quite MVP level just yet. Well, that can all change very soon as there is some lesser competition that he can beat up on coming up on his schedule. Over the next three weeks, the Bills take on the Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Jets. Would it surprise anyone if he rose up towards the top of this list as one of the favorites?
Over the remaining schedule, the Bills play just two teams with a winning record at the moment. We might be in for a few more 300+ yard performances that have become the norm for him of late.
