New Orleans Saints Rule Alvin Kamara Out vs Tennessee Titans
The New Orleans Saints suffered a big blow today. Star running back, Alvin Kamara will not be able to play this week due to a knee injury. This is a couple of weeks after losing starting quarterback, Jameis Winston for the season already.
So far this year, Alvin Kamara has 530 yards (66.3) yards per game and three touchdowns on the year. He is also second on the team in receiving yards with 310 and he has four touchdowns through the air on top of his workload running the ball.
It’s fairly safe to say that the offense runs through Kamara, which will likely make things difficult for the already banged-up Saints in Tennessee on Sunday. At this point, I’d expect Mark Ingram to get the first-team reps.
In two games with the Saints, he has 70 yards on 15 carries for a 4.7 yards per attempt a massive improvement from the start of the season in Houston. Ingram spent the first eight years of his career there going over 1,000 yards three times, his best season in 2017.Â
He’s not the player he once was, now at 32 years old, but he’s still a serviceable back that the Saints can use while Kamara is nursing his knee.Â
The Saints are 2.5 point underdogs in this game on the road at +115 value. The line hasn’t moved since the news of the injury, but it’ll be easy to see why gamblers will favor the Titans -2.5 this week after this news we received today.
