NFL Receiving Leader Odds: Is Deebo Samuel the Best Bet?

NFL Receiving Leader Odds: Is Deebo Samuel the Best Bet?
On Monday Night Football this past week, it was just another day at the office for Deebo Samuel. His strong 2021 season continued with a 97 receiving yard performance and two touchdowns (one through the air and one on the ground).
His performance was good enough to yield him another NFC offensive player of the week which is the second time in three weeks that he’s taken home this award.
While Cooper Kupp has stolen the headlines with his monster start to the season, Deebo Samuel is right there. Samuel trails Kupp by 162 yards, but you have to keep in mind that Samuel has played one less game and also has 31 fewer catches on the season.
Cooper Kupp vs Deebo Samuel
Name | Yards | Y/R | Y/TGT | Y/G |
---|---|---|---|---|
Cooper Kupp | 1141 | 13.4 | 9.8 | 114.1 |
Deebo Samuel | 979 | 18.1 | 11.4 | 108.8 |
Deebo is at an impressive 18.1 yards per reception which is the fourth-best in the NFL. The guy is a big play waiting to happen and looks to be fully blossoming into the player that the 49ers believed they were getting when they drafted him 36th overall in 2019. Since he only played in seven games last year, he was considered an afterthought heading into the year and man is he proving any doubters wrong.
Plus, with all due respect to Cooper Kupp and the season he’s had, look at what Deebo Samuel has done with Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance playing quarterback. They’re not in the same breath as Matthew Stafford.
Right now, the heavy favorite is Cooper Kupp to take home this award at -140. If you’re feeling lucky and are looking for a potential sleeper, look no further than Deebo Samuel at +450.Â
