AJ Brown Injury Update: Titans Place Star Wide Receiver on IR
Well, this is not the news that the Tennessee Titans were hoping for. The Titans are 8-3 sitting in first place in the AFC South but unfortunately just lost another huge piece of their offense for an extended period of time.
According to Ian Rappaport, A.J. Brown is heading to injured reserve and will be eligible to return in December as it isn’t expected to be season-ending.
Brown has been the Titans leading receiver by a long shot. He has 615 yards on 46 caught. The next closes in receiving yards is Julio Jones who hasn’t played in weeks. Also, the Titans are expected to be without Jeremy McNichols this week who has taken over as the lead running back after Derrick Henry suffered a season-ending injury.
That just makes this week’s matchup that much more difficult. The Titans are heading on the road to New England before their bye week.

As of right now, the Titans are the one seed in the AFC but a loss could drop them as low as the three seed depending on what happens elsewhere in the NFL. The Patriots’ defense has been excellent as they lead the league in interceptions and Ryan Tannehill is coming off a four-interception performance just last week against Houston.
The Titans are still major favorites at -950 to win the AFC South but are they still a contender? It all depends on how well they survive the next few weeks. One thing is for sure, Todd Downing has his work cut out for him the next few weeks.
