For the first time this season, there’s Tuesday Night Football. The Washington Football Team will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in what should be an interesting game. These two teams aren’t the only NFL game being played today. This game, and the Seahawks vs Rams are both being played today due to COVID outbreaks.

For the Football Team, both quarterbacks, Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen tested positive for the virus, however, it’s unclear if one of those two players could be back for this game. The public knows, as of now, it’s likely going to be Garrett Gilbert, the former Dallas Cowboys’ backup getting the start. Therefore, a lot of the money and tickets are on the Eagles.

Eagles -6.5

Eagles -6.568%80%

The opening line was -4 but with Washington potentially starting Gilbert along with many other backups at different positions, the public and sharps are on the Eagles. Washington is likely going to be without nearly 10 coaches. There will be some players that will come back from protocols, but fatigue could eventually set in.

Under 42.5

Under 42.559%64%

The total opened at 43.5, but once the news came surfaced that Washington might have to settle with Gilbert at quarterback, the money and handle went right to the under. It’s hard to get the public to like an under, but this game just seems like it’ll be a mess from the get-go and I can’t really argue against the under here.

Eagles to win and both teams to score 20+ points (+310)

Everyone loves a good lotto pick. This isn’t necessarily a lottery pick, but right now, bettors still believe that Washington is capable of scoring 20 or more points in tonight’s game. This is a square bet. The books love those types of bets.

Washington +3.5 and Over 40.5 (+310)

A lot of the time, Same-Game Parlays are really bad bets. They’re hard to hit and that’s why every oddsmaker has same-game parlays available. Still, of course, this bet can hit. It’s not a terrible bet from an analytics perspective but with more of the handle on the under 42.5, it’s interesting, to say the least. It’s actually pretty astonishing that there’s money on Washington +3.5 at all. But yes, if Washington wants to win this game, they’ll have to keep up offensively. So again, this bet absolutely makes sense, but I don’t see it hitting.

Washington Under 17.5 Points (-120)

The first two bets were looking for the over. This bet has money on the under. And now you see why sportsbooks win. This bet makes the most sense in comparison to the bets earlier. With Washington expected to start Gilbert at quarterback and without multiple coaches for tonight’s game, Washington might look extremely dysfunctional in tonight’s game. But if Washington is going to win tonight, they’ll absolutely have to score over 17.5 points.
