NFL Regular Season Sacks Leader Odds Update: Myles Garrett Leads the Pack

NFL Betting Odds Update Regular Season Sacks Leader
With Week 13 on the horizon, there are just six more weeks of the NFL regular season remaining. Much of the media buzz and headlines in the coming weeks will be about the postseason pictures in both conferences. For NFL betting purposes, the end of the regular season also means the cut-off for several futures focused on player stats and performance. One futures market that always attracts plenty of action on the defensive side of the ball is to lead the NFL in sacks.
Through 12 weeks of action, a total of nine players have already recorded double-digit sacks. The NFL betting odds to lead the NFL in sacks largely mirror the current statistical leaderboard. With so many players separated by just four total quarterback sacks, bettors can potentially hone in on a favorable price or two. It’s also worth considering the correlation between finishing strong in the total sacks department and a player’s chances to receive the Defensive Player of the Year Award.
The following article breaks down the NFL betting odds to finish 2021-22 with the most sacks. Along with each player’s current odds and stats are outlooks that might help bettors when handicapping this futures market with six weeks remaining in the season.

NFL Sacks Leader Betting Odds
Myles Garrett | Cleveland Browns Odds: +170
Former No. 1 overall draft pick Myles Garrett currently tops the NFL betting odds board to both lead the league in sacks and win the Defensive Player of the Year Award. When it comes to the current sacks leaderboard entering Week 13, Garrett leads all players with 14 on the season. He and the Browns will be on bye this week, thus allowing some of his competitors to make up ground. Even so, finishing in front of a pass-rusher with the skill of Garrett won’t be easy.
Bettors can wager on Myles Garrett to lead the NFL in sacks during the regular season at +170 odds. FanDuel, the sportsbook offering this number, has Garrett priced at +150 to win the DPOY Award.
T.J. Watt | Pittsburgh Steelers Odds: +550
Myles Garrett’s top competition to take home the sacks crown this season resides within the same AFC North Division. T.J. Watt is just 1.5 sacks behind Garrett after 12 weeks with 12.5 on the season. Not only was Watt forced to miss a game due to injury but he and the Steelers have already had their bye week as well. It will be key that he returns to full health if he is to overtake Garrett before the season’s end and repeat as the NFL sacks leader.
The current +550 NFL betting odds on T.J. Watt to lead the NFL in sacks are much lower at FanDuel than his +900 DPOY price.
Matt Judon | New England Patriots Odds: +600
After signing with the Patriots in free agency this offseason, Matt Judon has crashed the NFL sack leader party. He has 11.5 quarterback sacks to date and sits alone in third behind Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt ahead of Week 13. While Judon is part of an all-around elite Patriots defense, the individual impact that he has had this season certainly deserves recognition. He does have a late-season bye week to contend with in his quest to finish atop the sacks leaderboard. Matt Judon’s betting odds to finish as the NFL’s sacks leader have plummeted from the beginning of the season to now. Currently, bettors can find a 6-1 price at FanDuel.
Robert Quinn | Chicago Bears Odds: +800
In what has been a miserable season for the Bears, Robert Quinn’s quest to be the NFL sacks leader might be the most interesting thing to follow down the stretch. The veteran enters Week 13 with 11 total sacks on the season. He is the last of four players with single-digit betting odds to finish atop the sacks leaderboard at +800.
Nick Bosa | San Francisco 49ers Odds: +1400
Despite being tied with Robert Quinn at 11 total sacks on the season to date, Nick Bosa’s betting odds to finish the season on top are quite a bit longer at +1400. Bosa has been making a push lately, totaling four sacks during the 49ers’ current three-game winning streak. What a comeback story it would be if he can vault his way to the highest sack total in the NFL by year’s end.
Trey Hendrickson | Cincinnati Bengals Odds: +2000
A lot of people felt that Trey Hendrickson’s monster 2020 season was a fluke. The Bengals took a chance that the opposite was true and have been rewarded for signing him in free agency. Hendrickson has helped turn around Cincinnati’s defense with 10.5 total sacks on the season. Not only do his efforts have him within striking distance of the NFL sack leaders, but the Bengals are trending towards a postseason appearance.
Brian Burns | Carolina Panthers Odds: +4000
Although Brian Burns has 8 sacks on the season, that mark isn’t even the best on his team. Hassan Reddick (+2000) leads all Panthers with 10.5 sacks. Both players will have to overcome the hurdle of a Week 13 bye if they are to make a run at leading the NFL in sacks this season.
Chandler Jones | Arizona Cardinals Odds: +4000
Five of Chandler Jones’ eight total sacks on the season came in the same game. Since Week 1, Jones has only racked up three additional sacks in five games played. Along with his own injuries, the loss of fellow pass-rusher J.J. Watt for the season hurts Jones as opponents can game plan protection towards him.
Joey Bosa | Los Angles Chargers Odds: +4000
Unlike younger brother Nick, the current NFL sacks leaderboard would suggest very little betting value on Joey Bosa at 40-1. His sack total of 7.5 after 12 weeks is roughly half that of the current leader, Myles Garrett. Given how bad the Chargers’ run defense has been, opportunities for Bosa to play to his strengths as a pass rusher might be more limited late in the year as opponents adjust their game plans.
Aaron Donald | Los Angeles Rams Odds: +10000
With just six sacks on the season thus far, Aaron Donald has a steep hill to climb if he is to finish as the NFL sacks leader. He has game-wrecking talent, but rushing against double teams on the majority of snaps limits even Donald’s ability to stockpile sacks.
Chris Jones | Kansas City Chiefs Odds: +10000
The Chiefs’ defense has made a major resurgence from the beginning of the season to now. Chris Jones was a major part of that two weeks ago with a monster 3.5-sack effort against the Dallas Cowboys. He comes out of a Week 12 bye with 6.5 sacks on the season and 100-1 odds to finish as the NFL sacks leader.
Leonard Floyd | Los Angeles Rams Odds: +10000
Leonard Floyd is among the beneficiaries on the Rams defense as a result of Aaron Donald frequently being double-teamed. Floyd has 7.5 sacks to date and Los Angeles would certainly love him to stockpile some more given the poor play of the defense in recent weeks. Floyd is probably more likely than Donald to make a serious run at the season-long NFL sacks leader spot.
Shaquil Barrett | Tampa Bay Buccanneers Odds: +10000
Two sacks in Week 12 brought Shaquil Barrett’s season total to 7.5. He has a long way to go running down the current leaders, hence the +10000 NFL betting odds.
