Pittsburgh Steelers 2022 QB Odds: Who Will Replace Ben Roethlisberger?

After a career that spanned 18 years, with two Lombardi Trophies, a rookie of the year award, and six Pro Bowl appearances, Ben Roethlisberger has called it an NFL career. We knew it was coming, as it was hinted all year long that it would be his last in Pittsburgh, but the 39-year-old signal-caller officially announced his retirement in a video on Twitter.

Roethlisberger was the last remaining from that famous 2004 Quarterback draft class that featured Eli Manning and Phillip Rivers in addition to Roethlisberger as well. His storied career will surely land him in the hall of fame, and he will be remembered fondly in Pittsburgh for his nearly two-decade-long role as the quarterback of the Steelers.

With Roethlisberger now officially out in Pittsburgh, the shift turns to who will be the next quarterback for the storied franchise. Here's a look at the odds for who will be the starter in Pittsburgh in 2022 via Betonline AG.

2022 Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Odds

Name Odds
Mason Rudolph+275
Derek Carr+700
Jimmy Garoppolo+750
Jameis Winston+900
Kenny Pickett+900
Dwayne Haskins+1000
Kirk Cousins+1100
Ryan Fitzpatrick+1100
Matt Corral+1200
Russell Wilson+1200
Marcus Mariota+1300
Malik Willis+1400
Tyrod Taylor+1400
Desmond Ridder+1500
Aaron Rodgers+1600
Mitch Trubisky+1600
Sam Howell+1800
Cam Newton+2500

Mason Rudolph (+275)

The Steelers selected Mason Rudolph in the third round of the NFL Draft in 2018. He's been a backup with Pittsburgh ever since and in 10 starts over three seasons, he has 16 touchdowns to 11 interceptions, an 80.9 rating, and a 61.5 completion percentage. It's been strongly suggested that the Steelers like Rudolph and want to see what they have in him outside of the eight starts that they saw in 2019.

Derek Carr (+700)

Next up is the veteran option, Derek Carr. Carr has started for the Raiders since being drafted in 2014 but for some reason, he is always in the conversation to be on the move. He threw for 4,800 yards and 23 touchdowns during the regular season and played to a 94 quarterback rating. He would certainly be a splashy fix and someone who could help them win right now.

Jimmy Garoppolo (+750)

Yes, Jimmy Garoppolo has the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Title game but after spending a top-three pick on Trey Lance in the 2021 draft, San Fran will more than likely be moving on from Garoppolo in the offseason. Jimmy G is someone who can thrive in a situation that's perfect around him but don't expect him to elevate an offense.

Jameis Winston (+900)

Jameis was the starter in New Orleans this year before getting injured. He actually was playing okay before the injury with 14 touchdowns to just three interceptions, but that's the thing with him, turnovers usually tend to be an issue. With Sean Payton out in NOLA, I'd expect Winston to be on the move again this offseason. If Mike Tomlin likes him, perhaps he would be a veteran alternative option than some of the bigger and more costly names.

Kenny Pickett (+900)

From Pitt (University) to the Steelers would be a pretty cool story for Kenny Pickett. He's projected to be a first-round pick but there's no guarantee that he will be on the board at pick 20 for the Steelers. They might have to get aggressive in order to land Pickett but if there's any quarterback to fall in love with in this year's weaker QB class, Pickett seems to make the most sense.
