Saints 2022 Super Bowl Odds: Super Bowl LVII Futures Odds

As the 2021-22 NFL season finishes up in the coming weeks, 28 other teams are already looking ahead to April's draft and beyond as their offseason is officially underway. One team whose offseason might a tad more turbulent than the league average? The New Orleans Saints.

New Orleans Saints 2022 Super Bowl Odds (+3500)

One season removed from losing their franchise quarterback in Drew Brees, the Saints have now lost what many consider a franchise coach. A 9-8 record and narrowly missing the playoffs was enough for Sean Payton to call it quits as he steps down despite having three years remaining on his contract.

Pre-season, the Saints were +2800 to win the Super Bowl with Jameis Winston the starter, and those odds were shrinking as the team started 4-1 picking up three wins in the division and poised to compete for it. Then came the five straight losses and the loss of Winston for the season with an ACL/MCL injury. A QB-carousel ensued and that was basically it for the Saints.

Entering this offseason, the Saints have the #18 and #47 overall pick in April's Draft, two picks they'll likely spend on the offense, as the defense remains solid. This season they led the NFC in points allowed per game at 19.7 behind one of the best front sevens in the NFL that led the league in allowing just 3.7 yards per rush.

While there's a handful of stud free agent quarterbacks available this year including Russell Wilson, Jimmy Garoppollo, and potentially Aaron Rodgers; I think the Saints would be wise to stick with Winston.

No doubt, much of this decision will rely on who they bring in to replace Payton, but Winston seems like the no-brainer and most realistic should they be able to afford him. Even with no stable player at the quarterback position, the Saints were able to finish 2nd in the NFC South and come within a half-game of making the postseason. In a division that should be equally winnable, especially if Tom Brady walks away, I think these are the longest odds we see the Saints at this offseason and it is very much worth a small play.
