The Bengals weren’t supposed to be here. They entered the season with the 4th worst odds in the NFL to win the Super Bowl. They were underdogs in 2 of their 3 playoff games. They were given the worst odds of any team to reach the Championship to win a Super Bowl since OddsChecker began tracking those odds. Now they’re underdogs in the Super Bowl. Yet, bettors believe in Joe Burrow and company.

That’s right, 55.3% of bets have been placed on the Bengals to win the Super Bowl. The Rams have seen 44.7% of bets placed. A stark contrast from the oddsmaker's perspective, where the Rams are given -195 odds and the Bengals +170. That’s an implied 66.1% chance for the Rams to win the Super Bowl, and a 37% chance the Bengals win it.

Hey, it’s hard to blame bettors. After all, we’ve been here before. The Bengals are the fifth team since 2000 to be given +170 odds or worse to win the Super Bowl. The other three were the 2017 Eagles, 2015 Broncos, 2012 Ravens, and 2009 Saints. All four previous teams won the Super Bowl.
