2023 Super Bowl Odds: Browns Odds Slashed to +1400 Following Deshaun Watson Trade
2023 Super Bowl Odds: Browns Odds Slashed to +1400 Following Deshaun Watson Trade
The Browns have entered the crazy race for the AFC by trading for Deshaun Watson. The move now has them as third to win the AFC.
Entering the day, the Browns were given +4000 odds, or an implied 2.4% chance to win the Super Bowl. After trading for Deshaun Watson? Those odds have been slashed all the way down to +1400, or an implied 6.7% chance to win it all. That shift in odds moves them from 16th on the odds market to 6th.

Bettors are even more excited. Since the news broke, 45.8% of bets have been placed on the Browns to win the Super Bowl. That dwarfs the second-place Broncos who’ve seen 5.1% of bets.
The Watson trade is huge news, but if the betting is any indication then it’s not as impactful as some of the other major moves. When Brady unretired, 87.4% of bets were then placed on the Bucs to win the Super Bowl. When Russell Wilson was traded, 78.6% of bets were placed on the Broncos. Meanwhile, the Browns have only seen 45.8%. Sure, the Browns are still the massive betting favorite, but it’s just nowhere close to the impact as the other major quarterbacks this offseason.
