Baker Mayfield Next Team Odds: Are the Colts the Best Fit?
Stop me if you've heard this before but the Cleveland Browns severely mismanaged a roster situation. After pursuing DeShaun Watson, which they failed at, Baker Mayfield requested a trade as he felt slighted with the team going behind his back to talk to Watson.
The Browns as of now have remained firm that they will not be trading Baker Mayfield but what do the odds say? Here are the Baker Mayfield next team odds.

Indianapolis Colts +150 (Bet $100 to win $150)
This just seems to make too much sense, right? The Indianapolis Colts traded away Carson Wentz after just one year and will likely be looking to make a veteran addition at the quarterback position when looking at the state of the rest of the roster. In a poor rookie quarterback class, it doesn't make sense for them to try to draft someone (they don't have a first-round pick anyway).
We've seen Baker have success at times in Cleveland behind a powerful running game which is exactly what the Colts have in Jonathan Taylor. He would be an improvement over Carson Wentz and at minimum provides a stop-gap for them to find a long-term answer at the position.
All in all, it makes sense that the Colts top the list of the Baker Mayfield next team odds.
Carolina Panthers +800 (Bet $100 to win $800)
Like Cleveland, Carolina swung and missed in the DeShaun Watson sweepstakes. They can't possibly run it back with Sam Darnold and Cam Newton is far too risky for Matt Rhule to trot out there as he's starting to feel the seat warm underneath him. They could draft someone in the top 10 but once again, in a poor quarterback class would you want to do that?
Baker Mayfield at least has proven to be better than Sam Darnold and they would be hoping that Baker's down performance in 2021 was due mostly to injuries rather than ineffectiveness.

Seattle Seahawks +500 (Bet $100 to win $200)
After trading Russell Wilson, the Seattle Seahawks are currently projected to start Drew Lock which isn't great. In 21 career starts, Lock has 20 interceptions to just 197.5 yards per game and a 79.3 rating.
Mayfield without a doubt would provide more stability to their offense, and with DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Chris Carson in place. They'd have a chance to be more competitive at least in an otherwise difficult division. Unless they are trading for Jimmy Garappolo their only other option left is the NFL Draft.
