AFC West Odds: How the Odds Changed After the Tyreek Hill Trade

AFC West Odds: How the Odds Changed After the Tyreek Hill Trade
When a player of Tyreek Hill's caliber is moved, there of course is going to be some line movement. We already looked at the Miami Dolphins Super Bowl odds and the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl odds but what about looking at the AFC West odds?
The Chiefs very clearly will take a big hit here losing Tyreek Hill. Hill has posted back to back 1,200 yard seasons and has three All-Pro's and six Pro Bowl's during his time in Kansas City. Now, the offense will really be forced through Travis Kelce, unless they add some talent to the wide receiver position through the NFL Draft.

What makes this even more difficult for the Chiefs is how much the division has improved around them. The Denver Broncos traded for Russell Wilson, adding another top-flight quarterback to the division and Las Vegas just acquired the best receiver in football in Davante Adams.
You also can't forget about the Los Angeles Chargers who just acquired Khalil Mack via trade. The star power out west is massive and the road to the AFC West title is going to be a difficult one.

Kansas City is still the favorite but not nearly as much as they once were. Before the trade, they were listed at +150 to win the AFC West. Now, those odds have dropped to +165. That change has them going from a 40 percent chance to win the division to a 37.74 percent chance.
Here's a look at the odds, and where each team in the division currently sits in the race to win the AFC West:
AFC West Odds
Team | Odds |
---|---|
Chiefs | +165 |
Chargers | +275 |
Broncos | +280 |
