With the NFL Draft two weeks out, one would assume that the focus today would be on the upcoming draft. They'd be wrong. Instead, we're focusing on a disgruntled quarterback who allegedly doesn't want to play for his team without a new contract.
That quarterback is none other than Kyler Murray. Murray has made his stance pretty clear that he is looking to get paid and now according to reports he won't be willing to suit up without a new deal.

Relax Cardinals fans, Arizona is given an 83% chance of retaining their star quarterback. This is likely just a leverage play from Kyler Murray but in the end, my anticipation would be the Arizona Cardinals either paying Kyler or somehow smoothing things over to get him on the field in 2022 for their football team.
I mean they took a quarterback in the first round in 2018 and then when they had the number one overall pick the following year, elected to take another quarterback. Replacing Josh Rosen with Kyler Murray was the obvious choice at the time and now Kyler is trying to use the leverage to his advantage.
Kliff Kingsbury's team is in win-now mode. They started 7-0 before finishing 11-6 and losing in the first round but this veteran roster can't possibly try to start over with a new young quarterback or a veteran off the scrapheap in order to compete. They have to figure out a way to get something done.

The Cowboys have the next best odds after the Cardinals to get Kyler Murray? Yes, as strange as that is they do. Kyler Murray is from Bedford, Texas and like seemingly everyone else from Texas there is always a link back to the Cowboys. I get it that Jerry Jones is nuts and likes nothing more than a big splash but I would be truly stunned if even he pulled the trigger on a trade that brought in Kyler Murray for his team.

Is Kyler really that much of an upgrade over Dak Prescott anyway? I don't look at quarterback being the thing that's holding that football team back as he went for 278.1 yards per game 37 touchdowns and a rating of 104.2. A blockbuster trade for Murray should probably be the last thing on Jerry Jones' mind but his roster moves are truly impossible to predict so maybe it's not that crazy after all.
