Baker Mayfield Next Team Odds: Panthers the Overwhelming Favorite to Land Mayfield
We know precisely one thing about where Baker Mayfield will play next season. It won't be Cleveland.
Other than that, Baker Mayfield's next team is pretty much up in the air. There are plenty of teams that need a QB, especially one that has led his team to the NFL Playoffs already, but for some reason, the Baker market is quite calm.
But, there appears to be at least one team, according to Baker Mayfield next team odds, that has emerged as the favorite to land the former Oklahoma QB. That team, according to oddsmakers, is the Carolina Panthers.
Where will Baker Mayfield play next season? Only time will tell. But, let's take a look at his next team odds and see which teams oddsmakers think are in the running to acquire Baker Mayfield.

Baker Mayfield Next Team - Panthers (-150)
This one makes sense from the standpoint that the Panthers are a team with weapons on offense but that struggled to have much consistency last season. My main question would be, how much of an upgrade would Mayfield really be over Sam Darnold?
If the price is right, I can see Matt Rhule taking a chance on Mayfield for a mid-round pick or something along those lines. However, I don't necessarily think tr
ading for Mayfield makes them a contender in the NFC, or even their own division.
Baker Mayfield Next Team - Texans (+250)
This would be poetic.
The entire reason Mayfield is looking for a new team is that the Browns traded for former Texans QB Deshaun Watson this offseason. There are a couple of things standing in the way of this one happening, but I'm not sure they're complete blockers.
First of all, I'm not sure Mayfield wants to go to a Texans team that has done everything they can to trade away their most talented players for the last 3-ish years. Second, the Texans seem to think they may have something in Davis Mills and I'm not entirely sure that trading for Mayfield does anything to help him develop as a player.
Baker Mayfield Next Team - Lions (+600)
To me, this is the first team on this list that actually begins to make sense. and at +600, there is great value betting on Baker Mayfield's next team to be the Lions.
Jared Goff is not the answer for the Lions. He's not the answer for anyone. Acquiring Mayfield gives the team another jolt of energy and gets them a motivated Baker Mayfield looking to prove the world wrong.
On top of that, the Lions have talent on the offensive side of the ball that could be intriguing to Mayfield. Amon St. Brown balled out in his rookie season and looks to be a budding star in the NFL.
Baker Mayfield Next Team - Eagles (+750)
File this under "No".
Jalen Hurts may be the long-term answer at QB for the Eagles. He also may not be. However, Baker Mayfield isn't any type of upgrade over Hurts and acquiring him would only further muddy an already complicated QB situation.
The Eagles have proven in the past that they aren't scared to make a splash if they think it will improve the team, but I just don't see how trading for Mayfield does that. I expect the Eagles to stay far away from any Baker Mayfield news.

Baker Mayfield Next Team - Seahawks (+900)
If I was going to bet on any team here besides the Lions, the Seahawks would be my pick. Plus, at +900, the value is clearly there.
The recent news of the Seahawks signing Geno Smith to a new deal complicates things, but if they believe in Mayfield they aren't going to let a $3.5 million deal stand in the way of things. The Seahawks are in for a world of hurt this season if they don't figure out the QB position. The worst thing would be a season so bad that talented wideouts like DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett try to force their way out of Seattle. Mayfield may have enough talent to keep them happy while the Seahawks look for the long-term answer.
