Justin Jefferson recently made headlines claiming that he will be the best wide receiver in the NFL after this season. Currently, he gives the nod to Davante Adams but the young receiver claims that after this year he will be the best receiver in football.

Is that really that outlandish of a take? Well, according to the 2022 NFL Receiving Yards odds they tend to agree with Justin Jefferson. Let's investigate.

Justin Jefferson Receiving Yards Odds +800 (Bet $100 to win $800)

Justin Jefferson is good. Actually, that's disrespectful, Justin Jefferson is amazing. He followed up his performance 1,400 yard and 7 touchdown performance in 2020 with 1,616 yards and 10 touchdowns in his second season. There was certainly no sophomore slump for J-Jettas in his second season in the league.

He had the second most receiving yards in the league last year and the fourth most in 2020. If he does lead the league in yards, which oddsmakers are clearly expecting, is it really that nuts to say he's the best in the game?

I genuinely don't think so. We talked about his receiving numbers in the past two seasons and his combined 3,016 yards are the most for any player in their first two seasons in NFL history.

We will see if the coaching change impacts play calling, and I genuinely can't stand going with the chalk but Jefferson makes a lot of sense heading into his age 23 season to lead the league in receiving yards. If he does, it would be very difficult to prove his theory wrong.
