With just over a month and a half to go until the 2022 NFL season kicks off, defending Super Bowl Champion, Matthew Stafford, has been the bettors' favorite over the last week. Stafford has received over 27% of bets. Only Russell Wilson has received close to the number of looks, getting 22% of bets.
Stafford and the Rams return nearly an identical roster as the one they won the Super Bowl with last season. They've added wide receiver Allen Robinson via free agency and their stud rookie running back Cam Akers is one year removed from a torn Achilles and looking to make his mark. The MVP is a quarterback award, and the Rams are set to defend their title.
Looking at the rest of the field over the last week, you can see in the above NFL MVP odds Josh Allen is the favorite to win the award in 2022. He comes in as the third most popular among bettors receiving 12% of bets. The Bills are one of the best teams in the NFL and should find themselves at the top of the division and conference while competing for a Super Bowl. As for Allen's NFL MVP odds, you'll find the best price at FanDuel.
At +700, Allen is the favorite, and his NFL MVP odds give him a 12.5% chance to win the award. Behind Allen is Patrick Mahomes, whose +900 NFL MVP odds imply he has a 10% chance at the award. The GOAT, Tom Brady, is priced evenly with Mahomes.
Outside of Allen, Mahomes, and Brady, 2-time defending NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers rounds out the top four at +1000, and Justin Herbert (+1100) makes up the NFL MVP odds top five.
