Deshaun Watson Suspension Odds: Oddsmakers Give 58% Chance that NFL Increases Deshaun Watson Suspension

Earlier today, it was announced that Deshaun Watson will be suspended for six games for the 2022 NFL season. The suspension comes from the NFL's investigation of 24 women who filed civil suits against Watson for sexual misconduct.

The length of the suspension comes from former federal judge Sue L. Robinson but the NFL has the power to adjust this suspension if they so choose and there are odds on whether or not the NFL will decide to suspend Deshaun Watson for longer. Oddsmakers believe that Watson's suspension will be increased.

Deshaun Watson Suspension Odds Breakdown

Oddsmakers are giving the NFL a 58.33% chance of bumping his suspension up from six games. For some context here are some other recent NFL suspension lengths and the reasoning behind those suspensions:

Yeah, it would likely behoove the NFL to take a long look at this one. Especially when it's been widely reported that the NFL was looking for a one-year suspension. They would have to step in and override Judge Robinson, which they have the power to do.

Also, in this ruling, it stated that Deshaun Watson is only allowed to utilize the Browns' massage therapists. Just another head-scratching wrinkle to this story. The Cleveland Browns also released a statement today from their owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam showing support for their quarterback.

On the other hand, oddsmakers are giving the NFL a 50% chance to just do nothing. That wouldn't be the most surprising thing in the world either though as we've seen the NFL drop the ball in similar situations in the past.

Roger Goodell has a difficult decision here and a ton of eyeballs will be watching his every move.
