NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Odds: Strong Preseason Opener Has Aidan Hutchinson at Top of Odds Board
The NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year odds are some of the most closely contested in the entire league.
Between Kayvon Thibodeaux, Aidan Hutchinson, Derek Stingley and Sauce Gardner, there are tons of different rookies on the defensive side of the ball that have the talent to take home the award.
However, it took just one week of preseason football for the No. 2 overall pick, Aidan Hutchinson, to put clear space between him and the rest of the field, including Travon Walker, who went No. 1 overall.
Hutchinson was fantastic against the Falcons in limited action, finishing with two tackles and a tackle for loss before coming out.
As a result, sportsbooks have slashed his NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year odds going into the 2022 NFL regular season.

As of last week, Giants rookie DE Kayvon Thibodeaux and Aidan Hutchinson were tied as the favorites in NFL Defensive Rookie of the year odds as both sat at +600. Now, Hutchinson's odds have been slashed down to +500 while Thibodeaux stays at the +600 mark.
But, Hutchinson is even shorter in some places. At Caesars, his NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year odds are all the way down to +350.
Travon Walker, the player who the Jaguars took instead of Aidan Hutchinson first overall, is third in the market at +1000. Kyle Hamilton (+1100) and Sauce Gardner (+1200) round out the top five.
