New York Giants Week 1 Starting QB Odds: Could Tyrod Taylor Start Over Daniel Jones?

When training camp started, sportsbooks didn’t think much of the New York Giants quarterback decision. It seemed clear that Daniel Jones would be the Week 1 starter. However, given his struggles, sportsbooks are now taking bets on a quarterback battle between Jones and Tyrod Taylor.

New York Giants Week 1 Starting QB Odds

Daniel Jones is still the heavy favorite to be under center for the New York Giants come Week 1. He’s given -1500 odds, or an implied 93.8% chance to be the team’s Week 1 starter. That said, Tyrod Taylor is given +600 odds, or an implied 14.3% chance to take the starter job.

The Giants are the only team in the NFL who’ve had a specials market added for their players since training camp started. Even the Cleveland Browns don’t have a Week 1 QB market despite Watson’s suspension.

It seems unrealistic that Daniel Jones would get benched before even playing a game for Brian Daboll. That said, the fact that sportsbooks have even created this market is not a good sign for his prospects as the team’s quarterback moving forward. If Tyrod Taylor is under serious consideration to be the Week 1 starter then it could be a long season for the Giants.
