NFL Super Bowl Odds: 24% of Bets on Minnesota Vikings After Their Dominant Week 1 Win

The Minnesota Vikings seem to have a level of confidence they’ve been missing for years after their 23-7 win over the Green Bay Packers. It seems as if sportsbooks and bettors both  have also sparked some confidence in them, as their odds to win the Super Bowl took a solid jump, and they got 24% of the bets after their Week One win. Here is a look at the latest Super Bowl odds.

Minnesota Vikings Super Bowl Odds

The Vikings odds went from (+3500) to (+2500) (Bet $100 to Win $2500) to win the Super Bowl after the win.

Justin Jefferson being amongst the best wide receivers in the league certainly helps. Jefferson brought in nine catches for 184 yards and two touchdowns.

This comes as Kirk Cousins was able to protect the ball, throwing no pick and the two touchdowns to Jefferson. Cousins being able to keep the ball in the Vikings hands will be huge if the Vikings want to make a deep playoff run, as their playmakers with the ball in their hands are an incredible threat.

Dalvin Cook could have played better, too, as he had 90 yards on 20 touches. His 4.5 YPC has some room to improve, and he’s more than capable of it. If Cook slightly improves and remains consistent, that’s just another factor in the Vikings' favor to make a Super Bowl run.

O’Connell’s coaching seems to be solid as he now has an impressive first win. O’Connell was able to put Jefferson in a position to expose his matchup and open up the offense.

The defense was another bright spot for the Vikings, as they brought down Aaron Rodgers four times and held him to a passer rating below 70. It was an impressive first game for the defense against the back-to-back MVP.

Essentially, Jefferson was a star, as expected, and the defense did their job. Those two combined gave the sportsbooks and bettors alike confidence to give them a solid boost, and the Vikings are in play to take another odds jump next week, as they’ll take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
