Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals Breakdown

Lamar Jackson has been in his usual video game form to start he and the Ravens' 2022-23 campaign. The 2020 NFL MVP has been even more absurd than usual, this season as the club has 1,437 total yards through the first four games of the season and Mr. Jackson has accounted for 1,209 (893 passing, 316 rushing) of those yards, good for 84.1 of the team's entire yards earned throughout the season's first month. However, the Ravens could easily be 4-0 but are a mediocre 2-2 on the season. Two blowout wins over the New England Patriots and New York Jets positioned John Harbaugh's club to be atop the AFC...if it weren't for their two meltdown losses that is. The Ravens were up 28-7 at home against the Dolphins back in week two, then Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle happened. The lethal 1-2 combo in Miami combined for 361 yards and four (4) of QB, Tua Tagovailoa's six (6) touchdowns on the day to lead the Phins to a 42-38 comeback victory in Baltimore. Then last week, the Ravens were up 20-3, again at home, this time, against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. The 2022-23 NFL MVP favorite Allen and co. rallied to score 20 unanswered points, capped by a 21-yard successful field goal attempt by Tyler Bass to give the Bills a 23-20 win.

Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Bengals have had quite the turnaround from the first two weeks of the season. Joe Burrow and co. lost to Mitchell Trubisky and Cooper Rush to drop to 0-2 on the season. However, Cincy would get back on track over the last two weeks when they walked past the Jets 27-12 before taking advantage of a Tua Tagovailoa-less Miami Dolphins squad, last Thursday evening en route to a 27-15 victory over Teddy Bridgewater and co.
