5 minNFL Fantasy Football Trade Value Chart: Week 9
After an exciting Week 8 of NFL football, we can more clearly assess the performance of the players on our fantasy football teams moving forward to Week 9. Each week, this column will provide a Trade Value Chart for quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends, assuming a half-point per reception fantasy league.
Each week, the trade value chart will rate roughly 24 quarterbacks, 36 running backs, 40 wide receivers, and 18 tight ends. A number of factors go into these rankings:
- Performance - how is each player producing and what is their expected performance moving forward
- Team context - how is the team performing as an offensive unit
- Injury - is the player injured or is there a team injury that would significantly impact their future performance (i.e. Joe Burrow and the impact of the Ja'Marr Chase injury, which may have played a role in their Monday night struggles)
- Upcoming opponents
A trade value chart can be used to determine the relative value of a hypothetical fantasy football trade. So, if Nick Chubb has a value of 34.5, you would look for a similar return on a trade (Kenneth Walker for 21 and Michael Pittman, Jr. for 23, for example).
Is it an exact science? Certainly not. It is based on past and future expectations and my own preferences for each player.
