The Eagles come into Sunday’s game as the 9-point road favorites. Yet, only 35% of bets have been placed on them to win. Meanwhile, the Bears have seen 65% of bets to pull off one of the biggest upsets of the season.

The Bears are used to being big underdogs. In two of their three wins, this season they were 8.5-point and 6-point underdogs. 9 points is slightly bigger, though and the Bears haven’t overcome a spread like that since 2015 when they beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead 18-17. On the other side, the Eagles are used to being the massive favorites. They’re 2-1 in games where they’re favored by 9 points or more this season, and 1-2 against the spread, with that loss being their lone loss on the season to Washington.

Recent history will tell you that the Eagles are dominating this series. Philly has won their last five games against the Bears. Since 2000, they’re 10-4 against Chicago. The Bears' last win against the Eagles came in 2011. So, history isn’t on the side of bettors here. That doesn’t matter though. What does is that the Eagles lost their last game favored by 9 or more points and Justin Fields and the Bears' last win came when they were 8.5-point underdogs. When bad teams overachieve and good teams underperform upsets are there to be taken. That’s been the case for both of these teams this season.
