7 minNFL Quarterback Rankings: Quarterback Power Rankings Entering Week 2
There were a lot of crazy outcomes in Week 1 of the NFL season.
But it was just one week. We can't just overreact and start throwing shade at last year's top quarterbacks. At least not yet.
Here's a look at my NFL quarterback ratings as we head into Week 2 of the NFL season.
Quarterback Rankings
32. Joshua Dobbs (ARI) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Dobbs
Joshua Dobbs has never held a starting job in the NFL. He's just a veteran quarterback who will do what he can to keep the Cardinals competitive as they quietly tank for a new quarterback next season.
31. Zach Wilson (NYJ) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Wilson
Aaron Rodgers has dropped out of the rankings. In comes Zach Wilson. He'll move up the rankings this season if he can limit turnovers.
30. CJ Stroud (HOU) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Stroud
Stroud threw for over 240 yards in his first career game. If he does more of that, he'll also see a boost in his rankings.
29. Anthony Richardson (IND) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Richardson
I don't think Anthony Richardson will be an accurate quarterback. But his ability to lead and running ability will help him last longer in the NFL.
28. Bryce Young (CAR) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Young
Bryce Young likely has the brightest future out of the three rookie quarterbacks.
27. Russell Wilson (DEN) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Wilson
Is anyone else getting tired or Russell Wilson?
26. Ryan Tannehill (TEN) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Tannehill
The Titans lost by one point, thanks to Ryan Tannehill's three-interception game. It might be time to give Malik Willis another shot.
25. Desmond Ridder (ATL) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Ridder
I don't think Ridder is horrendous. But he's not in any position to win games with the Falcons. He doesn't utilize his best talent and rarely gets the opportunity to throw the ball.
24. Baker Mayfield (TB) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Mayfield
Mayfield led the Buccaneers to an upset win against the Vikings last weekend. Now, the Buccaneers are favorites against the Bears this weekend. Let's give Mayfield some credit.
23. Justin Fields (CHI) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Fields
A lot of people were high on Justin Fields this year. In fantasy, it makes sense. In real life, not so much.
22. Sam Howell (WSH) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Howell
Sam Howell has excellent potential, with some great receivers around him. He'll need to be more consistent, but it'll come with more playing time.
21. Kenny Pickett (PIT) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Pickett
Forget Pittsburgh's game against the 49ers. Pickett will be fine. He and the Steelers just ran into the best defense in the NFL in Week 1.
20. Deshaun Watson (CLE) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Watson
Deshaun Watson hasn't been the same since his suspension. He outplayed Joe Burrow in Week 1, but that's not saying much.
19. Jordan Love (GB) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Love
Love finally has his chance with the Packers. He added three touchdowns and nearly 250 yards in a rivalry game against the Bears. He's moving on up in the rankings!
18. Mac Jones (NE) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Jones
I thought Mac Jones did some good things against the Eagles last weekend. A couple of feet in bounds might've been the difference between an upset against the Eagles and not.
17. Daniel Jones (NYG) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Jones
The Giants never got going against the Cowboys in Week 1. But Jones got a hefty contract and has enough experience to wipe that game away and play better against the Cardinals this Sunday.
16. Jimmy Garoppolo (LV) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Garoppolo
The Raiders have one of the more consistent quarterbacks in the league. Jimmy Garoppolo doesn't have the best arm talent and won't run the football very much. But he'll do enough to help get the win. He's a great game manager, and that can't go unnoticed.
15. Derek Carr (NO) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Carr
The Saints didn't look tremendous in their win last weekend. But Derek Carr is a great locker-room guy who can get the most out of his players.
14. Geno Smith (SEA) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Smith
What happened to the Seattle offense last weekend against the Rams? Geno Smith didn't find a receiver for more than three catches or 50 yards. He's dropped in the rankings.
13. Kirk Cousins (MIN) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Cousins
Cousins is a top-15 quarterback. He has a lot of weapons, but somehow, Minnesota always finds itself in tight games. Can we blame Cousins for that? Probably.
12. Jared Goff (DET) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Goff
The Lions traded away Matthew Stafford and got a younger player in Jared Goff. In the long run, it's paying off. The Lions just knocked off the Chiefs, and Goff outplayed Patrick Mahomes.
11. Brock Purdy (SF) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Purdy
If we had a fantasy draft, Brock Purdy wouldn't be the 11th quarterback taken. But he gets so much doubt and continues to shine. The Niners destroyed the Steelers last weekend with Purdy at quarterback.
10. Matthew Stafford (LAR) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Stafford
Stafford will find himself lower in the rankings as the year progresses. But for now, Stafford gets the ten spot after a shocking win against the Seahawks and no interceptions.
9. Dak Prescott (DAL) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Prescott
We're all just waiting for Dak Prescott to break out. Could this be the year?
8. Lamar Jackson (BAL) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Jackson
Jackson has the most playmaking in the receiver room than he's ever had. Although JK Dobbins is out for the season, the Ravens will be okay knowing Jackson's passing game will improve this season.
7. Josh Allen (BUF) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Allen
The Bills are 0-1, thanks to Josh Allen. He threw three interceptions and fumbled another ball in a loss to the Jets. When is he going to learn to stop forcing things?
6. Justin Herbert (LAC) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Herbert
Justin Herbert and the Chargers lost in Week 1. But he might be asked to do more in Week 2 if Austin Ekeler misses time. A big performance this weekend could push him into the Top 5.
5. Trevor Lawrence (JAX) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Lawerence
Trevor Lawrence is excited to have Calvin Ridley on his side. His weapons just got stronger. In Year 3, Lawrence should develop even more.
4. Jalen Hurts (PHI) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Hurts
Hurts can do it all. He didn't have the best performance against the Patriots last weekend, but he did enough to help the Eagles win.
3. Tua Tagovailoa (MIA) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Tagovailoa
Is 466 passing yards good? He can thank Tyreek Hill for being the best receiver in the game. But Tagovailoa still needs to drop dimes in the hands of Hill. And he did.
2. Joe Burrow (CIN) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Burrow
Burrow signed the richest deal in NFL history and then put up the worst performance in history. It might take a few weeks to return, but he'll be fine.
1. Patrick Mahomes (KC) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best MVP odds for Mahomes
Someone get Patrick Mahomes, a wide receiver who can catch! Travis Kelce will return soon. That'll be a big boost for Mahomes moving forward.
