NFL Defensive Team Rankings Heading Into Week 4

32. Denver Broncos

The Broncos gave up 70 points to the Dolphins.

31. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers can't stop the run and have a poor secondary right now.

30. New York Giants

The Giants have allowed 32.7 points per game this season. The run defense is poor, and the secondary isn't playing much better.

29. Los Angeles Rams

The Rams are dynamite with the pass rush. But the secondary and run defense are some of the worst in the NFL.

28. Houston Texans

The Texans are terrible against the run and missing tackles galore.

27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers have looked better in the box score. The defense has lacked against the run and doesn't have a secondary playing at a high level right now.

26. Chicago Bears

The Bears are just a below-average defense in almost every area but the run defense.

25. Seattle Seahawks

What happened to the Seahawks? Seattle is horrible in the secondary, allowing nearly 330 yards per game in the air this season.

24. Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders have already allowed over 1,000 total yards on defense this year.

23. Cincinnati Bengals

If the Bengals can continue to play as well as they did in the second half of Monday night's game, they'll be rising these rankings in no time. The pass rush is easily the best portion of the defense.

22. Arizona Cardinals

If Arizona could convert on more tackles, they'd be higher on the list. The pass defense hasn't played all that poorly this season.

21. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars have still had trouble trying to create pressure against the quarterback. Same old Jaguars.

20. Carolina Panthers

Watching the Panthers try and tackle the opposition is embarrassing. But the pass rush has been very dynamic to begin the year.

19. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts are big up front. They're good against the run and dominant against the pass. But the secondary has struggled, and they've also missed a lot of tackles as a team this season.

The Colts playing the Rams in Week 4? Say Less. Make sure you're hammering Jaguars defense prop bets at DraftKings right now!

18. Minnesota Vikings

Don't sleep on the Minnesota secondary. They've got a lot of talent. If the offense can put them in better positions to succeed, the Vikings' defense will put up solid numbers.

17. Detroit Lions

The Lions have played your typical average defense.

16. Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are great in the passing game, holding teams to 178 yards per game. But the run defense could definitely use some help.

15. Tennessee Titans

The Titans have allowed 22.3 points per game this season. They don't have any weaknesses but aren't dominant in any area.

14. Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons have held teams to under 120 yards rushing. They've also held teams to just 18 points per game. The defense has improved and will do very well if Desmond Ridder protects the football on the other end.

13. Green Bay Packers

Don't sleep on the Packers in the secondary. As a matter of fact, the entire passing defense, including the pass rush, has been effective.

12. Washington Commanders

Although the Commanders have allowed nearly 29 points per game, the defense still has a lot going for them, including the secondary and pass rush.

11. Buffalo Bills

Buffalo began the season slowly with a poor defensive effort against the Jets, specifically in the run game. But since that game, they've turned things around. The Bills have looked great in coverage. That'll take them to higher heights.

10. Philadelphia Eagles

Teams have scored under 20 points per game against the Eagles this season. They've also given up under 50 yards rushing per game. They're super big upfront with all of those former Georgia Bulldogs.

9. New Orleans Saints

This is an above-average group in practically every area. They've allowed 16.7 points and under 300 yards this season per game this season.

8. Miami Dolphins

Everyone's raving about Miami's offense. But what about the defense? They've done enough to help keep the Dolphins undefeated.

7. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh pass rush never gets old. However, the run defense will need to improve as the season progresses.

6. New England Patriots

The Patriots wrap up their tackles well, and the secondary has been lockdown to begin the season. The run defense has also done its job. We've got another classic Patriots defense this season.

5. New York Jets

The Jets' struggles are not the defense's problem. That's for sure.

4. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens are elite in the secondary and playing great against the run. You can't ask for more from the defense.

The Ravens' defense against the Browns' offense? It's a no-brainer in Week 4! FanDuel is the place to bet on Ravens defensive props right now!

3. Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys have dropped to three after an embarrassing loss to the Cardinals. Dallas is still dominant against the pass but will need to figure out the run defense.

2. Cleveland Browns

The Browns have allowed 163.7 yards per game this season and 10.7 points per game. The pass rush is fantastic, and the secondary and run defense has been excellent. However, the Browns have missed a lot of tackles so far this season.

1. San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers have a dynamite pass rush, are excellent in the secondary, do well against the run, and convert tackles consistently. That's why they're No. 1
