NFL Fantasy Start Em, Sit Em: 20 Players to Start or Sit in Week 16

Your league should be in the playoffs by now.

Many leagues are either in the semifinals or championships, with plenty of leagues forgoing the final weekend of the NFL season.

That said, you need to make some tough decisions for your team. I'm here to help. Here are 20 players to start or sit for Week 16.

Quarterbacks To Play in Week 16

1. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

2. Joe Flacco, Cleveland Browns

Jared Goff has been hot and cold this season. The Lions will go on stretches. But they're on a hot one now. The Lions just earned a 42-17 win over the Broncos after Goff threw for 278 yards and five touchdowns in the win.

Meanwhile, Joe Flacco won't complete the highest percentage of passes. However, he's added nearly 940 yards passing in just three games for the Browns. He's also thrown seven passing touchdowns in those games. We've seen Zach Wilson have success against the Texans. Flacco isn't so bad if you're in desperate need of a quarterback.

Jared Goff is heating up and he can only get hotter in Week 16 so it's an easy decision. Make sure you're hammering Goff prop bets at DraftKings right now

Quarterbacks To Sit in Week 16

3. Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks

4. Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

5. Sam Howell, Washington Commanders

We don't even know if Geno Smith will be fully healthy. He's been an average quarterback this season but has a tough matchup on the road against Tennessee. There are better options.

Meanwhile, if you've got another quarterback on your bench with a better matchup, you can consider benching Tua Tagovailoa against Dallas. Dallas has performed better at home, so that's good for Tagovailoa. However, Tyreek Hill is hurt and Dallas' defense has performed much better throughout the season.

Finally, don't bother with Sam Howell against the Jets' defense.

Running Backs To Play in Week 16

6. Ezekiel Elliott, New England Patriots

7. Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers

8. Gus Edwards, Baltimore Ravens

I know Elliott failed many owners last weekend. But if you're still alive and playing in the playoffs, Elliott is still a solid option this week. Elliott still caught five passes on six targets despite only adding 25 yards rushing.

Meanwhile, Adam Jones escaped last week's game without an injury. He earned 13 carries for 53 yards and caught all four targets for 16 yards. If he's healthy, he will be a factor for the Packers and your fantasy team down the stretch.

Finally, with Keaton Mitchell done for the season, Gus Edwards should get the most reps in the run game for the Ravens. He added 16 carries for 58 yards and caught one reception in Baltimore's win over the Jaguars.

Running Backs To Sit in Week 16

9. Antonio Gibson, Washington Commanders

10. Ty Chandler, Minnesota Vikings

Even if Brian Robinson is out again this weekend, don't consider Antonio Gibson against the Jets' defense. He only got four carries compared to Chris Rodriguez's 10.

With Ty Chandler, Alexander Mattison is expected to return for the Vikings. Chandler will still have a role, but you don't want to be playing the guessing game in the playoffs.

Wide Receivers To Play in Week 16

11. Jayden Reed, Green Bay Packers

12. Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals

Over the last few weeks, Jayden Reed has become a significant playmaker for the Packers. He just saw eight targets and caught six of them for 52 yards. But he's also a threat to run the ball and has many plays that put him in an end around.

On the other hand, Tyler Boyd hasn't been a spark for the Bengals this season. But with Ja'Marr Chase likely out this week, Boyd could see his fair share of targets and find the end zone.

Wide Receivers To Sit in Week 16

13. Marquise Brown, Arizona Cardinals

14. Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers

15. Odell Beckham Jr., Baltimore Ravens

Marquise Brown left his last game early against the 49ers and didn't earn a catch. The news about his injury would certainly keep me away from playing him.

On the other hand, it looks like teams have adapted to Adam Thielen. He's been a non-factor over the last month after earning countless targets and receptions earlier in the season.

Lastly, I'm avoiding an inconsistent Odell Beckham Jr. against the San Francisco 49ers.

Tight Ends To Play in Week 16

16. Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers

17. Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens

Tucker Kraft has added 16 targets in his last three games. He even scored a touchdown last week against the Buccaneers. He's playing his way into the top 12 for tight ends this season.

If Isaiah LIkely is still available in your league, pick him up. He just added five catches for the second straight game and has scored a touchdown in two consecutive games.

Can Isaiah Likely step up and deliver in Week 16? Well, FanDuel is the place to bet on Likely props right now!

Tight Ends To Sit in Week 16

18. Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams

19. Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

20. Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers

Tyler Higbee has added no more than four fantasy points in four of his last five games. Meanwhile, Otton has earned no more than two catches in three straight games. Plus, with Mason Rudolph at quarterback, I wouldn't be fancy with Pat Freiermuth.
