5 minHow Long Will the Super Bowl National Anthem Be? Sportsbooks Release National Anthem Odds for Reba McEntire
Earlier last week, the NFL announced Reba McEntire will be the National Anthem singer for Super Bowl LVIII.
Many sportsbooks opened up the odds for McEntire's length of the National Anthem. When those odds came out, the money poured in on the Over, making sportsbooks push the total from 84.5 (-130) to 90.5.
This happened because if McEntire took 84.5 seconds, it would be one of the shortest anthems in Super Bowl history.
However, once people researched McEntire's anthem length, they realized she sang it very quickly. McEntire has been singing for years. She's had the opportunity to sing the anthem at other major sporting events, including a playoff MLB game.
There are multiple videos on YouTube with McEntire's anthem. When you time those anthems, she's hitting about one minute and 22 seconds.
That's just 82 seconds.
Will McEntire hold onto notes longer for the Super Bowl and push this anthem over the total this time?
Let's talk about it.

Super Bowl National Anthem Odds and Prop Bets
The National Anthem odds have been all over the place since opening. The line movement went from 84.5 seconds to 87.5 seconds. It then went as high as 90.5 seconds but has since dropped to 85.5 (-140). Before betting on this prop, I must point out that there is no official timer. Your timer and the sportsbook's timer could differ by a second or two. We've seen the Over and Under paid out at different books because of a timing issue. So keep that in mind. There's nothing official when betting on the National Anthem time. That said, McEntire hasn't passed 83 seconds in any of her Star Spangled Banner performances. But the Super Bowl could be different. For example, Chris Stapleton needed 121 seconds in 2023 and went longer than two minutes. More national anthems have hit at least two minutes than under a minute and 30 seconds. As the Super Bowl gets closer, you can also bet on other prop markets based on the anthem performance and broadcast. Some books even take action of clothes or lipstick of the performer. There have also been times when the anthem was leaked on social media. Some people will camp out at the stadium and try to time a practice run from the national anthem singer. Some books will void this bet if that happens. However, some have paid out despite the leaks.
The latest leak was Super Bowl 55 when Jazmine Sullivan & Eric Church went 2 minutes and 16 seconds. The leak clocked in at 2 minutes and 16 seconds and was right on the money. Keep surfing the web. You never know what edge you'll be able to find!
