FanDuel Super Bowl Odds: Complete Breakdown of the Latest Chiefs vs. 49ers Odds at FanDuel

It's officially Super Bowl week, and we are just a few days away from the big game. The Kansas City Chiefs opened as slight underdogs against the San Francisco 49ers last week, and the action has been pouring in ever since.

Every sportsbook has slightly different odds and prices as the handle comes in, and they move their lines accordingly. FanDuel Sportsbook is one of the premier locations in the US to accept a variety of wagers on the Super Bowl, and a good place to look for some odds.

The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping to repeat as champions, and will have a solid shot with Patrick Mahomes in his typical playoff form. He has never lost as an underdog, which is where he finds himself for the third game in a row on Sunday afternoon. Can he get the job done again, or will the Niners get revenge for four years ago.

Let's take a look at the latest Super Bowl odds on FanDuel Sportsbook to see where the spread, moneyline, and total have moved so far as the Chiefs get ready to battle the Niners in Super Bowl LVIII.

The Super Bowl spread has seen the most movement in the first week of betting action. There is 14 days from when the initial line comes out after the conference championships to when the Super Bowl physically kicks off, so there is a lot of wagering and changes to the odds during that time. Some bettors wait for a specific number to pop up before unloading a massive wager, which in turn re-affects the line.

The spread opened up at Chiefs +3 on Sunday night after they beat the Ravens, and were inundated with public money to start it off. The influx of bets crashed the line to Chiefs +1 within just a few hours, but the line never truly flipped across zero. Sharp bettors clamored on to San Fran after the initial dip, and scooped up the -1 odds, rapidly raising the line. It is now back to -2.5 in many spots, and will likely hover in that area until kickoff.

The spread has been highly debated in the first week, and will continue in these remaining few days before the big game. Some are refusing to bet against Patrick Mahomes as an underdog, something that has proved valid so far. He is 9-0-1 ATS as a an underdog in his highly successful career, and 3-0 straight up as an underdog in the playoffs. Others want nothing to do with the Chiefs team that struggled through the regular season, and are prepared to jump on the Niners as they try to correct the ship after some tense NFC games.

The moneyline has bounced around ahead of this Sunday's Super Bowl, in accordance with the spread. After opening with Kansas City as a dog at +110 odds, it crashed down across the even line and gave them -104 odds last Monday, the morning after it opened. They never became a true favorite, as San Francisco only went as low as -112 on FanDuel before climbing back up.

The latest splits have 75% of the bets on the Chiefs underdog moneyline, and 69% of the total handle. Meaning San Francisco has a slight edge despite much fewer tickets. They are at 24% of bets with 30% of the dollars. Some bettors capitalized on the initial 49ers dip, grabbing them at the cheaper -112 odds and -1 on spread before it climbed back up to -130.

There have been reports of several seven-figure wagers coming in on Niners ML -120 out of Las Vegas, and there are certainly more to come as Sin City sees their first Super Bowl. It is likely to smash through all records of previous action, so keep an eye on those big bets and the handle as gameday approaches.

The total for the Super Bowl is arguably the second-most popular bet after the spread/moneyline. It hasn't moved off the opening of 47.5, and likely will stay in the same spot leading up to kickoff.

This game features two of the most talented and successful defenses in the league, and the Chiefs may have a slight edge when push comes to shove. The Chiefs and Niners are second and third in the NFL in scoring defense, with neither allowing more than 18.4 points per game.

The 49ers also sport a top-five rush defense, allowing less than 100 yards per game on the ground. Their front seven will look to shut down Isiah Pacheco and the Chiefs rushing attack, which will aid them significantly in their fight against Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs hold the advantage in the passing defense, giving up just 181 yards per game in the air, good for fourth in the league. Meanwhile, San Fran is 13th at 215 ypg. They have struggled in the postseason to defend the pass against the Packers and Lions, and will need to make the Chiefs one-dimensional to limit the aerial assault from Mahomes and Kelce.

So far, the total bets have been nearly split dead even at 50% on the Over and Under, but the dollars wagered tell another story. Splits as of Monday have the Under receiving nearly 65% of the handle, despite just half of the bets. It's a sign that sharp money is coming in on the Under, but it hasn't been enough to move the line.
