The Las Vegas Raiders turned in a disastrous 2024 campaign in Antonio Pierce's first and only full season as head coach. Pierce was fired shortly after the 4-13 team wrapped up in early January, and the Raiders decided to turn back the clock and hire Pete Carroll in as head coach.
They had no direction at quarterback, splitting between Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew, and couldn't run the rock after losing Josh Jacobs to the Packers. The only bright spot on the offense was rookie star Brock Bowers, who will need to help carry with Geno Smith taking over at QB.
The Raiders tied Carroll's old team in their first preseason matchup, and will now get another chance to prove it this weekend against the San Francisco 49ers. We should see Geno Smith and Jeanty this time around with other starters in their first opportunity to mesh at full speed.
Can Pete Carroll still find success as the oldest coach in NFL history when he turns 74 in September? He's got a few new pieces to work with, and will hope his connection with Geno Smith can continue as they try and turn this organization around. Let's take a look at their expectations with the latest Las Vegas Raiders season futures, win totals, player props, and Super Bowl odds for 2025.

Las Vegas Raiders Super Bowl Odds
The Las Vegas Raiders are not trending towards a Super Bowl in 2025, but they want to develop their young roster and start making strides for future seasons. We see them back at +12500 odds, a tier above the Giants, Browns, Saints, and Jets. Make no mistake, it's still the 7th-worst chance, but they aren't complete bottom feeders. With Jeanty on the ground and Geno connecting with Brock Bowers under Pete Carroll's direction, they should at least be able to make some noise out west.

Las Vegas Raiders Win Total Odds
The Raiders win total is matched at 6.5, the same number they were given last year before aggressively underperforming. Las Vegas wasn't expected to be great under Antonio Pierce last year, but they were even worse than advertised, especially offensively. But with Pierce gone and a much more experienced Carroll in his place with his old quarterback, they were granted another 6.5 opportunity, and are set up for success much more than a season ago.

Las Vegas Raiders Odds To Make the Playoffs
A surprising success for Pete Carroll would be to make the playoffs. Not many Raiders fans are expecting it, but with a win total of 6.5, they have an outside chance if Geno and Jeanty can get this offense moving. They currently sit at +330 odds, so a 23.3% chance going into the season. It's definitely a long shot, but we could see this one happening more than a Giants, Jets, or Browns situation. Basically, they are in a slightly better tier than the bottom group of the league.

Las Vegas Raiders AFC West Division Odds
The AFC West is stacked to the gills, and the Raiders are a clear bottom feeder in this four-team race. They sit at +2000, miles behind the Chiefs, Broncos, and Chargers. You could argue that this is now the strongest crop of head coaches in the NFL, led by Andy Reid and followed up by Sean Payton and Jim Harbaugh, with Pete Carroll joining the squad. Every coach has been to the Super Bowl, with only Harbaugh missing out on the victory.
It will be a dogfight in this division this year, and the Raiders have a big gap at +2000 (4.8% chance) and their playoff odds of +330. They won't be making it through a division title against these opponents.
