NFL Power Rankings: Niners, Bills, Jags Continue Stacking Wins as Rams Struggles Mount

The 49ers stayed unbeaten with another statement win, Buffalo bounced back by beating the Rams and Jacksonville continued its rapid rise, while Philadelphia, New Orleans and the Chargers kept sliding. Check out the latest NFL Power Rankings entering Week 6 of the 2026 season.

NFL Power Rankings After Week 5

Five weeks have created enough of a sample to start trusting what teams are showing rather than leaning heavily on preseason expectations. San Francisco has earned the top spot with a 5-0 start against legitimate competition, while Jacksonville and Minnesota have forced their way into the upper tier.

There is still room for nuance. The Rams remain a championship-level team despite a 2-3 record because all three losses have come against strong opponents, while Philadelphia's talent can no longer completely excuse a 2-3 start. Injuries, quarterback play and upcoming schedule strength continue to matter alongside the standings.

NFL Power Rankings Breakdown - Entering Week 6

Super Bowl Contenders

1. San Francisco 49ers (Previous: 3)

San Francisco survived Seattle 32-29 to reach 5-0, adding another quality win to a résumé that already includes the Rams and Broncos. Nick Bosa's health and Dre Greenlaw's suspension are concerns, but the 49ers are 7.5-point home favorites over Washington on Monday night.

2. Buffalo Bills (Previous: 1)

Buffalo rebounded from its first loss by beating the Rams 37-34 in overtime, with Josh Allen rushing for 121 yards in another huge performance. The defense remains vulnerable and DJ Moore's shoulder is worth monitoring, but Buffalo is a 6-point favorite at Las Vegas.

3. Kansas City Chiefs (Previous: 6)

Kansas City comes out of its bye at 4-0, with Kenneth Walker III giving Patrick Mahomes the type of consistent rushing attack this offense has lacked at times. The Chiefs host the winless Chargers as 8.5-point favorites, although receiver injuries remain something to watch.

4. Baltimore Ravens (Previous: 7)

Baltimore improved to 4-1 by beating Atlanta 30-23 even without Lamar Jackson, an encouraging sign for the roster around its franchise quarterback. Jackson's ankle remains the biggest storyline as the Ravens visit Cleveland as 4.5-point favorites.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars (Previous: 14)

Jacksonville has earned one of the biggest rises in the league after beating Philadelphia 19-17 in London to improve to 4-1. The Jaguars have now won 12 of their last 13 regular-season games and are 2.5-point favorites over Houston in another London matchup.

6. Seattle Seahawks (Previous: 2)

Seattle lost 32-29 to San Francisco, but a one-score defeat against the NFL's only 5-0 team does little to damage the defending champions' overall standing. Injuries have thinned the backfield, and Seattle now travels to Denver as a 3-point favorite.

7. Los Angeles Rams (Previous: 4)

The Rams are only 2-3, but losses to San Francisco, Denver and Buffalo are hardly evidence that the roster has suddenly stopped being elite. Los Angeles produced 454 yards against Buffalo before another special-teams failure proved costly, and the Rams are 12.5-point home favorites over Arizona.

8. Minnesota Vikings (Previous: 10)

Minnesota moved to 5-0 with a 23-13 win over New Orleans as its defense held the Saints to only 142 total yards. Kyler Murray continues to settle into Kevin O'Connell's offense, and the Vikings get a Week 6 bye before hosting Indianapolis.

Edge of Contention

9. Denver Broncos (Previous: 9)

Denver improved to 3-2 with a 23-17 road win over the Chargers despite another uneven offensive performance. The defense continues to carry the Broncos, who return home as 3-point underdogs against Seattle on Thursday night.

10. New England Patriots (Previous: 11)

Drake Maye has completely changed the trajectory in New England over the last two weeks, and the Patriots erupted for 45 points in a blowout win over Las Vegas. The defense remains banged up, but New England is a 7-point home favorite over the Jets.

11. Cincinnati Bengals (Previous: 5)

Joe Burrow threw four touchdowns in a 31-24 win over Miami, but Cincinnati was actually outgained and still has concerns surrounding its running game and overall explosiveness. The Bengals enter their bye at 3-2 before returning for a major AFC North game at Baltimore.

12. Detroit Lions (Previous: 12)

Detroit overwhelmed Arizona 45-21 behind another huge afternoon from Jahmyr Gibbs and three Jared Goff touchdown passes. The offense can score with anyone, but the defense still has work to do during a Week 6 bye before Green Bay visits.

13. Chicago Bears (Previous: 13)

Chicago looked nothing like the explosive early-season version of itself in a 31-7 loss at Green Bay, turning the ball over five times without Caleb Williams. Williams' expected return is critical as the Bears head to Atlanta as 3.5-point favorites.

14. Green Bay Packers (Previous: 19)

Green Bay produced its best performance since opening week by crushing Chicago 31-7 and finally finding some offensive rhythm again. The Packers still need more from the running game but are 1.5-point home favorites over Dallas on Sunday night.

15. Carolina Panthers (Previous: 18)

Carolina had Week 5 off after Bryce Young emerged as one of the season's biggest early surprises, putting the Panthers into the NFC South race. The next test comes at Philadelphia, where Carolina is only a 1.5-point underdog.

Middle of the Pack

16. Las Vegas Raiders (Previous: 20)

Las Vegas' 3-0 start has cooled considerably after New England shredded the defense for 45 points and more than 500 yards. Kirk Cousins has kept the offense competitive, but the Raiders are 6-point home underdogs against Buffalo with a brutal upcoming schedule.

17. Pittsburgh Steelers (Previous: 26)

Pittsburgh jumped back above .500 with a convincing 34-22 win over Indianapolis as Aaron Rodgers and Jaylen Warren delivered one of their better offensive performances. The Steelers now visit Tampa Bay as 2.5-point favorites.

18. New York Giants (Previous: 23)

The Giants moved to 3-1-1 after a bizarre 27-27 tie with Washington, although they had opportunities to steal the game late. New York remains competitive despite quarterback instability and is a slight 1.5-point home underdog against New Orleans.

19. Philadelphia Eagles (Previous: 8)

Philadelphia's talent keeps it from falling further, but consecutive losses to the Rams and Jaguars have exposed offensive dysfunction and mounting injuries. Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith and multiple other starters missed the London loss, and the Eagles are only 1.5-point home favorites over Carolina.

20. Dallas Cowboys (Previous: 16)

Dallas followed its early improvement with an ugly 24-16 home loss to Tampa Bay, and the defense continues to be one of the league's biggest problems. The Cowboys are 1.5-point underdogs at Green Bay in another prime-time matchup.

21. Indianapolis Colts (Previous: 21)

Indianapolis fell to 2-3 after a 34-22 loss at Pittsburgh in which Daniel Jones failed to throw a touchdown and Jonathan Taylor was held to 45 rushing yards. The Colts get a favorable recovery spot as 7-point home favorites over Tennessee.

22. Atlanta Falcons (Previous: 31)

Atlanta has looked dramatically more competitive since Michael Penix Jr. returned, even in Sunday's 30-23 loss to Baltimore. Penix's rib injury is the major concern before the Falcons host Chicago as 3.5-point underdogs.

23. Cleveland Browns (Previous: 24)

Cleveland's surprising 3-1 start took a hit with a 17-12 loss to the Jets, and injuries to Quinshon Judkins and K.C. Concepcion add to the concern. The Browns now host Baltimore as 4.5-point underdogs.

24. Houston Texans (Previous: 15)

Houston finally broke through with a dominant 26-3 win over Tennessee after opening 0-4 against a difficult schedule. The addition of Marvin Harrison Jr. gives C.J. Stroud another weapon, but Houston is a 2.5-point underdog against Jacksonville in London.

25. New York Jets (Previous: 22)

The Jets continue to show they can beat teams in their own tier, improving to 2-3 with a 17-12 win over Cleveland. The defense keeps New York competitive, but the Jets step up significantly in competition as 7-point underdogs at New England.

Needs Improvement

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Previous: 28)

Tampa Bay finally broke through with a 24-16 road win over Dallas despite playing without Baker Mayfield, with Bucky Irving carrying the offense. Mayfield's thumb remains a major storyline as the Buccaneers return home as 2.5-point underdogs against Pittsburgh.

27. Washington Commanders (Previous: 30)

Jayden Daniels returned against the Giants and immediately gave Washington's offense more life, but late-game clock management cost the Commanders a chance to win the 27-27 tie. Washington now faces the league's toughest assignment as a 7.5-point underdog at undefeated San Francisco.

28. New Orleans Saints (Previous: 17)

New Orleans has fallen rapidly after another ugly offensive performance in a 23-13 loss to Minnesota, producing only 142 total yards. Tyler Shough's turnovers have become a serious concern, although the Saints are slight 1.5-point road favorites over the Giants.

29. Los Angeles Chargers (Previous: 27)

The Chargers remain winless after a 23-17 loss to Denver, their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. Justin Herbert is struggling behind another shaky offensive line, and Los Angeles is an 8.5-point underdog at Kansas City.

Already Tanking for Next Year

30. Arizona Cardinals (Previous: 25)

Arizona's Week 1 upset looks increasingly distant after a 45-21 loss to Detroit dropped the Cardinals to 1-4. Trading Marvin Harrison Jr. only reinforces the long-term direction of the franchise, and Arizona is a 12.5-point underdog at the Rams.

31. Miami Dolphins (Previous: 32)

Miami showed more offensive life in a 31-24 loss to Cincinnati but still enters its bye at 0-5 with the league's worst point differential. The Dolphins have a week to reset before returning against the Jets.

32. Tennessee Titans (Previous: 29)

Tennessee hit a new low in a 26-3 home loss to previously winless Houston, falling to 0-5 for the first time since 2009. The Titans visit Indianapolis as 7-point underdogs and remain the clearest contender for the No. 1 pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
