Presidents Cup Odds: How to Bet on USA vs The Internationals

We are a day away from the start of the 2024 Presidents Cup, as Jim Furyk's team looks to win a 10th-straight title.

The Internationals have not won the Presidents Cup since 1998, and since the two teams played out a tie in 2003, Team USA has won every renewal. Will that change this week in Montreal?

Let's first look at the odds for each time to win the Presidents Cup, and then we can also look into other ways to bet on the USA vs The Internationals matchup this week.

2024 Presidents Cup Odds

Here are the odds for this week's Presidents Cup. Will Team USA or the Internationals win? Or will we see the first tie in this event since 2003?

  • USA (-230)
  • Tie (+1400)
  • Internationals (+275)

At -230 with FanDuel Sportsbook, Team USA are being given a 69.7% chance of winning the Presidents Cup for the tenth time in a row. That would be a real blow to the Internationals, who are desperate to ensure this event is competitive.

While they have ultimately lost, the Internationals have come close in each of the last two Presidents Cups they have hosted, most recently in 2019, when they went into Sunday with a 10-8 lead. They would go on to lose 8-4 in the Singles and lose overall.

If you think Mike Weir can finally lead the Internationals to victory on home soil, in Montreal, Canada, then you can bet on his team at +275 on DraftKings Sportsbook. This suggests there is a 26.7% chance of the home team causing an upset.

Here are the most popular betting markets you can wager on, at the 2024 Presidents Cup this week.

Presidents Cup Picks, Predictions, Bets

It seems very unlikely that the International team are going to pull off a win here. There is nothing in the makeup of their team this year that suggests they are in any better position to win than they have been in years past.

If anything, the Internationals are hurt the most by the PGA-LIV Tour divide, with the likes of Cam Smith and Joaquin Niemann obvious assets to this team.

I am going to stick with USA to win, even at -230, but that's the boring bet out of the way. Let's look at some other action.

  • Day 1 Winner - Team International (+200) - The Presidents Cup kicks off with five sessions of Fourballs on Thursday afternoon, and this is a format where the Internationals have thrived. In their last two home Presidents Cups (2019 and 2015), they have dominated this part of the event. In 2019, they won 4-1 on Thursday and 2 1/2-1 1/2 on Saturday. Going back to 2015, they won the first Fourball sessions 3 1/2-1 1/2 and tied 2-2 on Saturday. I think they can start off fast on home soil, even if they eventually go on to lose.
  • Top USA Points Scorer - Tony Finau (+1800) - Finau is one of the more experienced players in this team, playing two Presidents Cups and two Ryder Cups, and I think he can be paired with several players successfully. I think he's a sneaky target to play 5 matches, and that sort of volume alone would make him good value.
  • Top International Points Scorer - Sungjae Im (+500) - Sungjae Im has played in every match in his first two Presidents Cup appearances and at 5-3-2 he holds a 60% win record - the best on the team. Obviously Scott and Matsuyama have played more times and therefore can't keep up with that percentage, but it does show his pedigree so far. He recorded six top-10 finishes in his last 11 starts on the PGA Tour season, so he's in form as well.
