Ryder Cup Odds: Team USA Strong Favorites For Victory At Whistling Straits

USA! USA! USA! Ryder Cup fever is building .. and not just in the OddsChecker office. With golf’s biggest event now under a month away and the PGA Tour season grinding to a halt, all eyes are on Whistling Straits for the 43rd Ryder Cup.

The Tour Championship, which gets underway today, will give Captain Stricker his last chance to run his eyes over his team and cement his six captain picks.

The likes of Collin Morikawa, Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau have already qualified for the US Ryder Cup team, but there are a number of guys including Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth and Tony Finau looking to impress Stricker in their final appearances ahead of the Ryder Cup and lock in a captain’s pick.

Despite not knowing the full teams just yet, Team USA are dominating the Ryder Cup odds board with the books. The best Ryder Cup odds available for Team USA are -165 with PointsBet, which is the equivalent to a 62.3% chance of victory. Europe are the underdogs with odds of +200, or 2/1 in traditional terms.

Ryder Cup Public Betting Data: Where’s The Money Been Going?

Yesterday the news came in that Phil Mickelson won’t be playing on the US Ryder Cup team this year and instead he’ll be a vice captain. Now, we’re not saying that this news affected the public betting on the event, but .. well, we are saying that.

Ever since this news was announced, there’s been an incredible 85.71% of total bets on USA to win the Ryder Cup! Compared to just 14.29% on Europe. Obviously Phil Mickelson is a legendary golfer, but his poor Ryder Cup record led many to question whether he really should be on this team with the amount of in-form, young talent around.

That decision has been made and the public like it.

We’re pumped for the Ryder Cup and as always with any big event, we’ll be providing picks analysis, the latest betting news and providing you with the best betting promos. Stay tuned on OC for the best Ryder Cup coverage around. Until then, we’ll leave you with this…

We're giving away $10,200 to 100 people to celebrate the 102nd season of the NFL. And only OddsChecker teammates can get it. Make sure you’re following us on Twitter and Instagram by 9/8/2021 to get some. Or be GREEN with envy.
