Russell is the driver to beat after taking pole with a late Q3 lap, and the Montreal form is impossible to ignore. This is his third straight Canadian Grand Prix pole, and he also won the sprint earlier in the weekend, giving him the strongest starting position and the cleanest recent track profile in the field. He won last year’s race in Canada as well, so +100 is short but justified. The biggest question is whether he can manage the opening lap cleanly with Antonelli alongside him after their earlier Mercedes tension.

Antonelli is still extremely live from second on the grid, even after losing pole by less than a tenth. He had been the favorite before qualifying, and his season remains elite after winning the last three grands prix and leading the championship. The disappointment is real because he looked positioned to control the weekend, but starting second in a dominant Mercedes still gives him a direct path. If Russell gets a poor launch or Mercedes lets them race, Antonelli can flip this quickly.

Norris needs a strong launch, clean tire management, and a race that does not let Mercedes disappear early.

If rain or safety cars enter the picture, Piastri becomes a much more dangerous +900 play because McLaren can split strategy and attack Mercedes from two angles.

He is also under investigation for impeding Pierre Gasly, which adds uncertainty to his starting position and makes the number harder to trust. If Ferrari has stronger race pace than qualifying pace, he can work into podium contention, but winning from this spot requires chaos ahead.

Verstappen at +2500 is the shock number on the board. He starts sixth after struggling with Red Bull’s straight-line speed and setup, and the frustration around the car was clear after qualifying. The price is massive for a driver with his résumé, but the market is not wrong to demand a discount. He needs Red Bull to find a race-pace solution, or he needs weather, safety cars, and Mercedes-McLaren strategy complications to drag him back into the fight.
