Lionel Messi Next Team Odds

Barcelona (+450)

Barcelona is leading the charge in the latest Messi next team odds, and it would be a relatively safe option. He was the fixture of the franchise, spending over 21 years with the program since joining the youth team at age 13. Messi developed into the clear and obvious best player in club history during his time at Camp Nou, with many believing he is the most gifted soccer player of all time.

Barcelona has been doing just fine in his absence, winning La Liga twice, including this past season. They went deep in the Champions League, but were stunned by Inter Milan in a thrilling semifinal. Messi could draw enough attention away from their other stars to put the team over the top, but it certainly becomes a chemistry situation with what they've built. Robert Lewandowski is also getting up there in age at 36 now, and is staying on with Barcelona for one more year before his contract ends in 2026. It remains to be seen how that will play out, but it could be affected by any Messi situation.

Any Saudi Club (+750)

The Saudi angle is given the second-best odds at +750 here, and it would be a big-time money play if Messi went this route. Though if the original rumor was that he wanted to play against tougher competition, it wouldn't happen in the Saudi league.

Cristiano Ronaldo went this way a few years ago, and just signed an extension worth over $675 million, according to reports. But Ronaldo has been playing in semi-empty stadiums and just racking up goals against weaker talents, despite turning 40 this year.

While it is an obscene amount of money and hard for anyone to pass up, it doesn't really align with the spirit of Messi's play. That doesn't mean it won't happen, but it would take a mammoth offer to get him there.

Paris Saint-Germain (+1100)

This option could play in the mix, with PSG sitting at the fourth-best chance to grab Messi if he leaves Inter Miami. Messi played 75 matches for PSG between 2021 and 2023, spending two years with the french side. They won the Ligue 1 title in both years, but weren't able to get in done in the Champions League.

It was a similar fate for PSG with Mbappe, but with both of those stars gone, they finally broke through in 2025 to win it all. They would likely explore a reunion with Messi if the fit was right, but it is hard to mess with the chemistry on the current side after the recent success.
