Despite getting rejected last Friday on a €110 million bid, Liverpool is still charging after Alexander Isak. The Newcastle star striker turned in a 23 goal and six assist season a year ago in his third year of premier league competition, and has been highly sought after in the summer transfer window.
Newcastle is really trying to hold on to Isak by the looks of it, valuing him at over €150 million. They also made a €70 million offer to RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko in case they lose Isak, but Sesko appears to be on his way to Manchester United as of Wednesday's news.
The rest of the Newcastle squad just returned home from their preseason tour of Asia on Monday, but Isak didn't participate. He was spotted back at the training grounds on Tuesday, but was instructed to train away from his teammates on Wednesday in a separate time slot.

Based on the latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook, Alexander Isak is now favored to join Liverpool, and it makes sense with the amount of effort the reigning champions are putting in to try and acquire him.
While another offer is expected to come across from the Liverpool side this week, these things fall apart all of the time. That's why it's not -1000 or something similar for Liverpool to be the next team. With the current odds, The Reds have a 61.5% chance of landing the star striker.
No other club really seems close at this point, so there's no sense in touching on it. If Liverpool doesn't shell out the extravagant amount of money that Newcastle is pining for, then there will be no deal, and Isak will stay at St. James' Park.
This saga has caused quite a bit of tension for Newcastle United and their fans, with Isak skipping the preseason tour and hoping to get acquired. It may be a damaged locker room that he returns to if he doesn't get bought out by Liverpool, further harming Newcastle's chances to compete in the Premier League this year.
