Next Chelsea Manager Odds: Kieran McKenna Favored to Take Over at Stamford Bridge

It's been just over 24 hours since Mauricio Pochettino's surprising exit from Stamford Bridge, and now Chelsea are getting back on their horse to find a new manager for their supposed rebuild.

The Blues finished in sixth place of the Premier League this year, just outside the race for silverware and Champions/Europa League qualification. That may be a good ending for some clubs, but not for the winners of the Champions League Final in 2021.

While the race for a new manager in Manchester looks a little more clear cut as they pursue former Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino, there is no true favorite in the Chelsea search as it starts up. Kieran McKenna and Robert de Zerbi are slightly ahead of the pack as the current top choices, but the pool appears to be wide open.

So, let's try to narrow down the field by taking a look at the latest odds to see who has a chance to become the next manager of Chelsea.

Next Chelsea Manager

Kieran McKenna (+350)

The potential top favorite is rising star Kieran McKenna, who just got Ipswich Town F.C. promoted to the Premier League from League One in just two seasons of work. The 38-year-old led back-to-back promotion seasons, an incredibly impressive feat. He is a former assistant at Manchester United, and knows the rigors of surviving in the Premier League. Chelsea are reportedly looking for a younger and more progressive coach, and they certainly have a chance at those qualities in McKenna.

Robert de Zerbi (+350)

Robert de Zerbi is another top candidate who led a successful campaign with Brighton this year. Chelsea have grabbed a Brighton coach before, and could go for another as de Zerbi announced he would not be returning to the club earlier this season. He is also in the running for Bayern Munich, as well as his native Italian clubs of AC Milan and Juventus. It remains to be seen where he'll end up, but he is certainly on Chelsea's radar after they moved on from Pochettino.

Ruben Amorim (+800)

Ruben Amorim is firmly in the running despite his further back odds. He took Sporting to the Primeira League title in Portugal this year, and is a hot coaching star that many teams are after. While he seems committed to Sporting at this time, Chelsea will try to convince him otherwise with a large payday. They previous held talks a few months ago during the season, and will likely revisit them with less distractions. Keep an eye on Amorim with longshot odds.
