Oscars Odds - Best Picture

Oppenheimer (-1000)

Christopher Nolan has already directed two previous Best Picture nominees in Inception and Dunkirk.

Oppenheimer will join those two. But this will ultimately be his first winner of the award. It's probably well overdue for him in the first place, which should help the film's chances.

Some believe that Oppenheimer lacked emotion. However, this movie was a Hollywood epic. We've seen movies like this win the award before. Don't be surprised, especially at -1000, when Oppenheimer wins the award.

Poor Things (+1400)

Poor Things has already earned a bunch of accolades. At the Golden Globes, it won Best Motion Picture and has already earned 11 British Academy Film Award nominations.

Scottish writer Alasdair Gray didn't base the movie in Glasgow as the novel did, and there was some criticism that there were no Scottish actors in the main cast.

This film could be a sneaky play for an upset against Oppenheimer. It's already expected to beat out Barbie per the odds.

The Holdovers (+1400)

When Holdovers came out, nobody really expected the film to blow up. But early reactions to the film proved it could compete for Best Picture. Now it's tied for second on the odds list actually to win the award.

Some believe if there's one movie that can beat out Oppenheimer, it's this one.

Still, it's very unlikely.
