He’s no longer known for being the mad scientist of golf, and has instead gained a following for his massive length off the tee and bulked-up physique.
With his new game and new-found popularity has come a sharp increase in action backing him. In fact, fans are so impressed with his new game that he recently become the most popular pick for this year’s Masters, scheduled to get underway on November 12, 2020.
34% of bets in the Masters champion market have come in on DeChambeau, following last week’s impressive performance at the RBC Heritage.
Usually, golfers atop the World Golf Rankings like Rory McIlroy and John Rahm, or recent champions like Tiger Woods, lead the way in public betting, but this year it’s DeChambeau.
DeChambeau’s best odds are currently with FanDuel and come in at +2900 to win his first green jacket, giving him the 11th longest odds in the field and a 3.3% implied probability of winning.
McIlroy is the favorite at +750, while Rahm and Tiger sit at +1400. Justin Thomas and Brooks Koepka are tied with Woods and Rahm for the second-shortest odds in the field.
