French Open Odds: Surge In Bets For Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic has nicely filled the void as tennis bad boy left by Nick Kyrgios' absence from the game. The Serbian made all the headlines at the US Open following his disqualification after hitting a line judge in the neck with a ball. Despite Novak's image taking a dent, online bettors are still keen to wager their money on the world number one.

There's no other duo in sport like Rafael Nadal and the French Open, Nadal has won the title a record twelve times. Unsurprisingly, online bookmakers made Nadal the French Open betting favourite going into the event. Rafael Nadal's French Open odds suggest he has a 47.6% chance of winning another title.

Nadal was also the popular betting pick for many online bettors leading into the event, however, the tides have turned, and now Novak's accounting for the majority of wagers at the French Open. The French Open odds have Djokovic as the second-favourite behind Nadal, and imply he has a 25% chance of winning.

In the last twenty-four hours, Novak Djokovic has accounted for a whopping 48% of bets placed in the French Open odds market. In the same time period, Rafael Nadal has accounted for just 29%.

It's quite a shift from the French Open betting patterns we witnessed at the beginning of September. Before Monday, Rafael Nadal had accounted for 36% of wager in the French Open betting market, with Novak Djokovic only holding 19% of bets.

On the women's side of the French Open, the bookmakers favorite Simona Halep has been the most wagered player to claim victory in the last 24-hours. Halep's currently priced at +275 to win the French Open and has accounted for 38% of bets in the market. Second-favorite, Garbine Muguruza has accounted for 32% of wagers in the same time period.
