Simona Halep’s status as clear frontrunner in the French Open betting market has been solidified following Wednesday's decision to withdrawal from Serena Williams.
Halep’s odds of winning the tournament have shortened from +250 to +210 ahead of her second-round match against fellow Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, meaning oddsmakers have increased her implied chance of going all the way from 28.57% to 32.26%
This put her clear of nearest challenger Garbine Muguruza, whose odds of +650 are indicative of a 13.33% chance, with Elina Svitolina making up the top three with her price set at +900 (10%).
Cori Gauff just makes the top ten with odds of +2800 (3.45% implied chance) while Sloane Stephens is way back in the field, with her odds of +7000 demonstrative of just a 1.41% chance.
