Sportsbooks think Tony Finau’s second win could be a Major…

Max Homa Defeats Tony Finau In The Gensis Invitational Play-Off

The golfing was ready to congratulate Tony Finau on his second PGA Tour win yesterday, after Max Homa’s tee shot wedged against a tree in the play-off of the Genesis Invitational. However, Homa played possibly the shot of the tournament to make par on the play-off hole, and force another shoot-out.

Finau found the bunker on the second play-off hole, which them led to him missing his par putt. Max Homa made his par, which meant he collected his second PGA Tour victory. Great news for Max Homa, but what will that loss do to Tony Finau.

Tony Finau has collected over $19 million in prize money, however, he’s still only got the one win at the Peurto Rico Open to his name.

Tony Finau’s Ridiculous Record: $19 Million In Prize Money But Only One Win

116 players have won since Tony Finau’s 2016 win at the Peurto Rico Open in 2016, and 43 players have won twice on the PGA Tour since that win, including Max Homa.

Finau’s record is somewhat unbelievable, the American has 37 top-10 finishes without a win since 2017, which is 21 more than the three players tied in second.

Tony Finau To Win The Masters? Or Any Major?

Tony Finau needs a little bit of luck to fall his way to secure his second win, which likely trigger a winning spree from the big American. Finau’s a lovable character, and appears to be one of the calmest players on the PGA Tour, however, there has to be a lot of doubt deep-down.

Despite his Sunday woes, BetMGM have given odds of +600 (6/1) that Tony Finau will win a Major in 2021. It will come as no surprise that Finau has finished in the top 5 at all four majors previously, and has eight top 10 finishes at Majors to his name. However, winning is a different issue.

Odds of 6/1 for Tony Finau to win a Major in 2021, makes him the 10th favorite with BetMGM, here’s the list:

PGA Tour Odds: To win a Major in 2021

Given Tony Finau’s winning record, it’s strange to find that he’s got shorter odds than Patrick Reed (7/1). However, it’s also worth noting that Xander Schauffele’s win record gets over-looked due to Finau, his odds too short in comparison to the players around him.

Tony Finau To Win The Masters

Tony Finau’s 33/1 (+3300) to win the Masters in April with the majority of sportsbooks, however, his Masters odds are as short as +2500 with certain books.

Jordan Spieth has over-taken Tony Finau in the Masters betting, Spieth is now +2500 to win the Masters, despite being +1400 with other sportsbooks.
