The Match Odds: Bryson DeChambeau & Aaron Rogers Favored To Beat Phil Mickelson & Tom Brady
Phil Mickelson & Tom Brady vs. Bryson DeChambeau & Aaron Rodgers
The fourth edition of The Match has been announced and the man of the moment Phil Mickelson is once again right at the center of it. On July 6, the PGA Champion Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady will tee it up in a charity match against Bryson DeChambeau and Aaron Rodgers at Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana.Â
This is the fourth iteration of The Match and Mickelson has been involved in all of them. First up, he defeated Tiger Woods one-on-one, then he met with defeat when teaming with Tom Brady for the first time, losing to Woods and Peyton Manning. Most recently, Mickelson pulled off an upset when he and Charles Barkley defeated Manning and NBA star Steph Curry.
This will be the second time Mickelson has partnered with Brady and they’ll be looking to avoid another defeat! Up against them is another golfing star in the news at the moment and that’s Bryson DeChambeau. DeChambeau’s fued with Brooks Koepka has made headlines in the last few days as the two have been throwing plenty of jabs each other’s way on social media. The two future Ryder Cup teammates despise each other and you can be sure Brooks Koepka will have plenty to say about this match in the weeks to come. There’s even been rumors that he’ll sit on color commentary for it! Let’s hope so.
Teaming with Bryson DeChambeau is Aaron Rodgers, who’s currently in the news due to his dispute with his NFL team, the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers is a pretty decent golfer himself. As of 2019, he played to a handicap of 3.5, which makes him considerably better than his old rival Tom Brady.
The Match Betting Odds: Phil Mickelson & Tom Brady vs. Bryson DeChambeau & Aaron Rodgers
As with any sporting event now, you’ll be able to place wagers on The Match with the legal sportsbooks. Our friends at DraftKings were quick to offer early lines on the event. DraftKings make Bryson DeChambeau and Aaron Rodgers the favorites to defeat Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady. Despite Mickelson’s recent win at the PGA Championship, the books are backing DeChambeau’s length to be a deciding factor in the match. The Moonlight Basin course plays at a huge 8,000 yards, with 5 par 5’s – so no doubt Bryson will be using his immense power to tame the beast. On top of this, it seems quite clear that Aaron Rodgers is a better golfer than Tom Brady, who really struggled with his game in The Match II.
